We are getting them Monday and selling them for $249. Good price for such a great combo. Looking forward to trying one out.

Well I've decided to hold out for an Orion CRF Alpha WE JTP, no offense Pitpop, but I have met and raced with Jared a couple of times, if I had met Cody I would be getting a King.. I think I might pick a Discovery set for practice, and for comparison.. I'll just run the Trinity eXtech if I need a motor until this one gets in stock..

Pitpop- looking at a new engine for this season. Running truggy (St-rr) and thinking about the Discovery 5 port. The price looks killer and have read very good things about it. My question is it enough engine for truggy?

Want to get my St-rr running strong this season....

you're going to love it.. we got Cody's this week and fired it up, and it was the sweetest thing... it just sounds SO GOOD it's a great engine that they spent a lot of time on and it's an exact replica of what the guys ran in Pattaya. We're running them at Nitro Challenge.

It should be fine in the truggy. We ran it in the buggy and it had tons of power.

That rocks Pitpop.. I look forward to hearing your impressions on the motor after the race, and seeing Cody's results with it..

Started breaking-in my Orion Discovery yesterday. One of the best engines I've ever ran-in. It's like a lawn mower engine. Just keeps on runnin'

Guys,
Got my MTE,the head shim is 2 alum and 2 copper, total is 1.0mm.Do i need to add shim to break in the engine or just do it with the standard shim?
After break in do i need to remove any shim ?

Thanks
James

What is the difference between the Discovery 5 port and the CK/JT limited engines?

Will there be a "not limited" version of the CK/JT engine available? Just asking because I would be looking for just the engine, no pipe combo.

Cheers!

the discovery is a "standard" engine steel bearings, standard crank, standard head.

the JTP/CK are exact replicas of the engines they ran at worlds, ceramic bearing, CRF crank, updated materials, lightened head.

Completely different engines. I would guess, they will eventually update the CRF 5-port to the Worlds specs aswell.

Completely different isn't exactly true, but the differences are what you mentioned.. From my limited knowledge timing on both engines is very simlar.. The current version of the CRF 5 port is only different from the worlds edition by timing, the special edition heads, and serial #'s
