a B11 is a C6..........it is the same as a C5,B10...........they put that same piston/sleeve into piles of engines.....it is indeed a great sleeve design tho.....

Herrsavage 08-17-2013 10:28 AM

I thought so.. Just repeating what people with them have said here..

rick oxley 08-17-2013 11:46 AM

now that the bx/bxr runs 14.5mm crank, looks like RB are geting rid of old engine parts based on the 14mm crank.

Anybody care to take a stab at how a Blast V14 would compare to the Nvision Race? Have a chance at a deal on the Nvision combo with 2058, new....

the Nvisions are not strong performers, the Blast will be more powerful.....

Well I got some good news and some bad news....
Bad....found out my pinch bolt on my carb was loose
Good....found out my pinch bolt on my carb was loose.
So hopefully that will solve my engine problem.

BTW....it was loose from the factory. :(

That's not at all unusual. Most of the time you have to adjust the angle of the carb to get your linkage in alignment. Some engines come with the carb not installed. Let it be a lesson to do a once over on your engine. Check all screws and bolts to make sure they are tightened.

Hello everyone, I picked up a Kyosho MP9 TKI3 and the guy I got it from had a RB Hobby 9 laying around so he threw it in for me. I haven't ever ran and RB motor. I have a couple questions I'm hoping someone can help me with. Has anyone run one of these in a buggy ? What would recommend as a pipe for this motor ? I would rather have bottom end power than top end. This motor has a standard plug in it, can I swap it out for a turbo plug ? I can find the turbo button for other RB motor but not the Hobby 9. What size venture insert should I run ? I can't anything about that. I found a post about running a 2045/198 pipe and header combo, will that work for more low end versus top end ? Thanks for the help !

Hey Veno,I know your name, probably know your face as well, I raced at One Hobbies, one of they few that ran a Losi 22 and 22T. I'm the guy that always brought to much crap with him to the track ! lol I bought Vareck's MP9. He told me who to talk to about this engine, I don't recall who it was, it may of been you !:D Now that One is gone I'm going to focus on Nitro for a bit. I was at Fear Farm last Friday night running my 8T. Couldn't race on Saturday though . Anyway, I'm the fat guy, with almost grey hair, stutters, Vareck always made fun of me crashing all the time. You would know me if you saw me. Are you going to race Buggies and Breakfast ?

OK, I was thinking of getting some high-end engine, but couldn't pull the trigger on a Speed, even on a good deal for one.. (Reds R5T combo too..) So I think I'm just gonna' get a Blast. I got the %10 Amain discount, so I could get the V15 from them. OR, I could get a V14 combo with pipe here in Germany for like 20 bucks more.. The V15 though says "14mm dual insert balanced & lightened turbo crankshaft", which I think it doesn't say for the V14.. So is the V15 likely to be the best yet?..

Also, is the RB dust cover thing a no-go or what? I bought one, and mounted it on my P5XLT today, but didn't like how it rotates with the clutch.. Or is that okay?

Herrsavage 09-01-2013 12:35 PM

Anybody know of anywhere still selling an RB Fire(for a decent price..)?

howse 09-02-2013 11:09 PM

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a clocked RB blast v12, looking forward to using the motor with a new kit.

However i'm not sure which brand or number i should be going with glow plugs.

I'm running in outside temps that can range from low 30 to high 40s (celsius)with 25%O'Donnell fuel

guttley 09-03-2013 03:22 AM

Use an RB Plug, number 6 should see you good in those temps.

Herrsavage 09-03-2013 03:24 AM

Or a Novarossi C6TGC..

Herrsavage 09-23-2013 10:44 AM

Possibly interesting for somebody..:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ucts-Crankcase

I guess the parts bins they were using for the Blast series are about used up, so now they're dumping off the individual parts, as if there are not enough left to make whole engines...

Anybody run a V14 or V15 yet?..

grs_link 10-10-2013 12:25 PM

So, no one talks about the KANAI edition?

is it just a marketing move? :S

am 10-10-2013 01:08 PM

I have the new kanai 3 port.so far it has been great.very easy to tune very smooth power.feels very similar to a nova plus 4.I have a 2058 pipe with the medium fuel mizer insert and it will do 11:40 a tank.hope that helps.

This is in my 2.0 EU, BTW.

This engine is still going strong. Might finally be time for a rear bearing. No idea how many gallons. Still original rod and sleeve, plenty of compression. All i have done was put a front bearing in it. Running ODO99t plugs, they last so long, i don't even now how long it is between...

RB is all I will run from here on out. V15 prolly going in next... if this thing ever quits. ha.

Modded V11 in my truck is a beast, but is a baby compared to the stock one in my buggy. (Age wise, not power)

Herrsavage 10-27-2013 12:38 AM

I've asked before but I gotta' ask again real quick(before I place an order..): is the V15 going to be better at all than the V14? I can get the V14 here WITH PIPE for a decent price. The V15 lists "double balanced" in the description, unlike any of the other Blasts.. It costs nearly the same as the V14, but without a pipe..

Well, not really actually.. But I have to order it from Amain, which entails a certain hassle I wouldn't have ordering the V14 here from a shop in-country.. I can get the V15 to me for about €150, the V14 with pipe for €175-180.. I don't care about the pipe really btw.. Would just sell it anyway.. For me it's just a question of which engine is the better value..

Herrsavage 10-31-2013 10:03 AM

So anybody run a V15 yet?.. :tire::tire:

wittyname 11-20-2013 07:08 AM

I have a Rb 1003 ws7 engine thats been sitting for years. Its in excellent shape , still feels smooth , has a lot of pinch . Its had 3 tanks through it on the bench in anticipation of using it . Any thoughts or concerns about putting an old paper weight back into use ?

The price was right , and its my first nitro , so I dont have anything to loose. I figure , if I make any real mistakes , better to do it on this motor then something I just spent a wad of cash on .

fun hawg 1 11-22-2013 05:41 PM

Iam also wanting to know how the blast v15 works. I have a blast v12 that runs just awesome with a 2058 pipe. best motor I have have had in a while and got it for $ 150.00 on a main and want to get another blast when this one wears out. 5 gallons and going strong. I am a RB fan now.

When the guy that owns our track read the specs on the V15, and he got to the part about the double slugged crank, his eyes lit up and he smiled real big... He's an RB guy to the core.

I was about to buy it, but my V11s are still going strong.

From what I understand, the crank in the V15 is a high dollar on-road engine crank. Good stuff.

Herrsavage 11-25-2013 05:07 AM

The RB Blast V15 is on sale today only at Amain for $159...

"High-dollar on-road crank"? Sounds reminiscent of the Fire, an engine I really really like...

honda237 11-25-2013 05:18 AM

Any reviews on the v15? I want to get one.

Herrsavage 11-25-2013 05:21 AM

I've never heard any complaints about any of the Blasts to be honest.. They're all made of the old school C6 and other Italian high-quality parts afaik..

honda237 11-25-2013 05:28 AM

Awesome, I'm would be coming from a nova n.21r limited (low budget motor), would I see a large gain in performance? I am also thinking the 2045 pipe, but how does it compare to a Orion 2013? This would be going in my original d8.
Heard these break in like a picco, I pray not like my picco p3 .28, it has 3 gallons and still mechanical pinch and high temps.

Herrsavage 11-25-2013 05:36 AM

Oops. Double-post.

Herrsavage 11-25-2013 05:37 AM

This V8 (yellow truggy) looked fast as hexx to me... The V15 should be at least as good, if not better..

BillyT. 11-25-2013 05:46 AM

My V11s rip... almost too much power for buggy. More than enough in truck.

Almost 7 months old, no idea how many gallons, still passes the flop over test, tons of compression. I thought it was on it's way out, then I found a cracked pressure line to the tank. Even then, it always held idle, just a little soft down low.

Wish I had some video of them for you guys. Will try to shoot some this week when the weather clears up.

honda237 11-25-2013 06:00 AM

Any idea how the v15 would compare to the v11? Easy to tune?

if all the V15 has over the V11 is the addition of that extra slug then the performance would be indiscernible between the two...On a crank that heavy one tiny slug is not going to make any performance difference we will be able to see or feel.
