Is there any consensus on the head clearance for a C6? Not shims, an actual measurement. 30% fuel.
Thanks. |
My Hobby 9 has been running good at around 250degrees, has a good amount of power with the RB 2045 / 198mm pipe. With my driving, I get around 10 - 11 minutes on a tank.
I have about 1.5 gallons through the engine and it still has crazy pinch, so much so that I sometimes need to heat it with a heatgun before my starter box will turn it over. I picked up a WS9 that I was planning on running next year but for now, the Hobby 9 is going strong. Might need to sell the WS9 at this rate. |
Greetings all,
Been running an S3 very happily, runs great but a little too slow for my competition. So I have purchased a B9, just put the engine in to start the break in process and realized the idle screw is about 1/4" or more screwed out, as this is the first time running this engine is this normal? Thanks |
Yes it is normal every C6 (B9) I have ever had is like that. The carb is designed differently and better then the "S" (Junior,Hobby,Series) line.

Over priced con rod!
Hey Guys, I'm running a modded S7 and C6 and they are getting in need of conrods. At $61 plus shipping plus wrist pin and clips, the cost would be about $100 per engine. That's a hefty chunk of change, about the most in the industry. I heard there was a substitute con rod from a Nova or a Go tech that works just as well in these engines. Does anybody have knowledge or experience with this? Thanks for the help.

I believe a Novarossi R7 rod will work fine in your C6. It's probably the same part, as that RB engines is made by Novarossi. Not much cheaper than the RB part though. I don't know about the S7...

quick question:
is it normal for a ws7ii to run in the 280-290 degree range? both my buddy and i both have these engines and they seem to run fine with good smoke annd no bogs, just hot. thanks |
Cool thanks for the replies guys.
Figured out the B in B9 stands for beast, damn but this engine is looking fast. Done my 10 tank break in and getting ready to get my tune done. Screw settings seem to be extremely sensitive to even the smallest adjustments, so this may take me a little longer. Not that this is a complaint, it was one of the easiest engine I have broken in. And I have broken in plenty. Looking forward to the racing this Sunday, hopefully the weather will stay clear |

Hey everybody I got my "Killer 9" in today. It looks pretty mean. Can't beat the price either for about $230.00 They changed alot on this engine, carb is all composite with needle settings of 4 and 4 and the idle screw is to the back and flush in the carb and aluminum 8mm insert. I didn't open it but looking in the exhaust port it doesn't have the 2 little exhaust ports that the C6 has. I'm excited to get it but I won't be able to run until next weekend. I'm not going rush break in for Sunday. I have 3 paint jobs to do tonight and tomorrow.:p
BTW I ordered two and got them both! |
