Then again, just watched the videos of the Clockworks V20 and Rally 14. May have to go with a Clocked engine instead. Still want to know what is the Direct Intake though.

Can't go wrong with the clocked v20. I saw one race this past weekend and it was a screamer. I personally run the clocked V15 and it's a beast. Run it in my truggy..

I see a new video out of a clocked 3 port RB engine. Looks pretty sweet.

well I didn't post this video as its only a test run in grass..... With the spring rains this was the only dry patch I could find and I was eager to test this engine out........... My track wont open till the weekend, so this is the best I have for now, anyone else who is climate challenged will understand this and not say anything derogatory.!

Anyways this is the Clocked Blastv20/rally X-Treme Speed edition on the RB 2097/41021 manifold............Engine runs excellent, gets very good mileage and is fairly fast and powerful ..In this video the engine is only a tank off the breakin stand and still has a little ways to go before its will produce peak performance....

The Blast V20 and the RallyX are the same engine, only difference being the insert in the carb and the lettering on the head....The Rally14 is the same as the Fire11, it is a different sleeve then the Rally X and Blast 20......

Has a keep-off style bearing......they call that the Direct intake as far as I can tell ...

We have been testing a BXRSLSDI5 and so far it has been a good running mill.....Very comparable to a Bonito or Keep-Off 7, but with more low end grunt...

So should a 7-port V20 or Rally X be good in a truggy?...

My Clocked version makes a truggy dance !! ...but I would imagine the stock version is no slouch and would have no issues with truggy ...

Thanks Neal for posting the videos and your responses. I didn't know there was an Rally X speed edition and a Rally 14, thought they were the same. New to RB so I only saw the 14 around the net.

Stock 19 good in truggy, if you are racer... It's not gonna do wheelies, but it's not losing down the straight either. So the 7 ports should be even better...

Just an update...I've been racing my bxr sls3 for about a month now and its been an incredible mill. Unbelievable low end power with plenty on top as well and close to 11 mins of runtime with a 7mm venturi installed. Highly recommend this engine, especially for tight tracks.

For those still running the BX and BXR the previous generation RB we have got a better result from changing the to a medium header instead of the long one supplied in the combo kit .It basically adds power everwhere ,perhaps if you battling for traction and then the longer could be easier to ride though.

We should be goiing over to the new SLSDI5 and SLS5 this weekend and will test the make the same swop to see if the result is similar .

Hi guys,

My engine is about broken in now, seems very rich at the top still and due to lean a bit, but as soon as I do I find it doesn't drop back to idle very quick, it hangs on for a little while spinning the wheels (on the box)...

..is this normally a sign of a lean top? I really find it hard to believe the top is lean so what else may it be?

Without hearing/seeing it. I would try pinch the fuel line and see how long it takes to run out of fuel. I believe it should be between 3-5 seconds. It could be rich on bottom and maybe your idle gap is to large. You may need to lower your idle.

Check out this video.

Ok, I played and changed the problem. Typical. So here is how it's running..

1st this is how it revs up mid use and comes back down:

https://vimeo.com/100010904

This is what happened after 30 seconds of idle:

https://vimeo.com/100010123

And this is after a 90 second idle...it stalls when throttled:

Appreciate any help! Am pretty confident the hsn is in the range but on the rich side of it, idle and LSN not so sure! Can any experts help!?
