The V8 is a 5+2 port. I really like the looks of it in that vid I posted earlier, so I guess I'll hold out for a V8 then..

So, went with a V9... Anybody else pick one up?

The V8 in that vid I linked though is anything but mild... Same with the C6's I've seen in person..

I guess it is all relative to what we are used to running .... get used to running a Clocked Bonito then you also would think a C6 is very mild, as the Bonito has a massive power and RPM advanatge

The video speaks for itself IMO..

And whatever the case, most buggy .21's have more than enough - some say too much - power for buggy, and most have plenty for truggy.. The engine in that video I would say is at the top end of the power scale available - and especially for a decent price..

But whatever.. Strangely enough, I sent RMV an email with the question, which one should be more powerful, the V8 or V9?.. They answered, "there is only the V8", and there won't be any more.....

ps Yep, a few minutes on google led to some websites in the UK - the V9 is basically a C5...

"This is based off of the legendary C5 series of engines, featuring the same internals and performance but at a all new price!"

I have to agree with you here that the C6 was anything but mild especially for buggy.. i remembered when they first came out truggy wasn't as popular and people would run a 28 in them.. the C6 whipped a truggy around like nothing and back then the truggies were brick heavy...

great engine that C6 was.. wish they were available in the US

And the C5? How did it compare to the C6?

Couple observations..:

1.) Front bearing not blue
2.) Carb pinch bolt is a nut, not a screw
3.) Looks like big cuts in the case at the exhaust outlet (maybe normal, but they really stand out..)

MES or not ? (3 port exhaust )

by the blowup of the picture in the instructions it looks like a S7 sleeve.... what is the stroke/bore of the engine ?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ipe-Turbo-Plug

16.22x16.80....

On several of the British sites it says explicitly that it's a throw-together of old C5 parts.. I'd like to get an idea of what kind of power to expect. If it's not going to be above average, I'd sell it and get a V8..

The p/n on that sheet for p/s/r assembly is 01143-5. That's for a S5, not a C5/6. Totally different animal.

Definitely have no interest in an S5.. Not too keen to, but would sell it if it is and get a V8..
