How much fuel do you have thru the engine? As you get to about a gallon the engine will really free up and you will have more overall power.

Does your engine idle really well? Does it load up with fuel if you sit still for 5 seconds? If the idle seems good and it does not take a while to clear out when you first leave from a dead stop of 5 seconds then your LSN is pretty good. Being that your temps are only 190, you can lean the HSN a little more. Even though it's the HSN if it's rich your engine will feel flat from the bottom all the way to the top.

Like rokit said, try the 198 header as I think it's always good to have both headers around anyway. A #5 plug might make the bottom end feel slightly more crisp but it will probably not give you more bottom end.

I would also try to change the clutch slightly, maybe 2 .9's and 2 1.0's with that clutch.

Hey guys,

I currently have two engines, a WS7 II and WS7 III L2G. Love both of these engines. Neither of them have more than 1.5 gallons through them. When I first started this hobby I was convinced to by a RB engine and got a S7. That engine lasted 12 gallons before I sold it.

With all the new naming of the RB products I am confused. It used to be that the WS7 series engines had the black painted cases and the only one I see now is the B10 that is painted. Previous posts show that the B10 is more like a C5/C6 than a WS motor. What is the equivalent to the WS motors now. The reason I asked is that my WS7II just had the bearings replaced and the LHS that did it for me stated there were small scratches, possibly from overheating, on the piston but that it "should" be ok. So I need a piston and sleeve with con rod and am not sure what one to get.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

The B10 is actually like the C5/C6 engine line. The WS engines you are running are short stroke engines and are actually not made any longer. There are still some parts available out there for the WS engines though.

Part RBD01143-WS7M is the piston sleeve and rod set from the WS9 which is the latest and greatest of the WS line of engines. This part is avail at A-Main hobbies when I checked. The only difference will be the RBD01143-WS7M comes with 3 exhaust ports where your WS7II and WS7III both only have one exhaust port. It will work just fine with your case and should get you a little better fuel mileage.

Hey guys, I have a chance at buying an rb s3 l2g engine n I no nothing on this engine,

what I'm hoping for is these things,
most important, is this engine novarossi base cause that's important to me, is this engine like a p4 with ease of tune? What pipe do I need, 2013 2084 or 9901, is this engine good on power? I just need n idea on it thanks.

Honestly the S3 is more of a sport engine. If you are used to driving engines that make pretty good power the S3 will disappoint you. That engine was made as something for the new racer to run as they learn to drive. It is also a square stroke engine and the square strokers are not even made anymore.

One last question.

My LHS is not carrying any RB plugs. I use the RB #6 in my WS7II (standard plug) and it works great.

I need replacement plugs for a WS7III (L2G turbo plug) and the WS7II standard plug. What is everyone using?

If you can order some RB plugs that would be your best bet. You can run Odonnell plugs if you want as well as I have heard many people have pretty good luck with them.

Thanks chris, I figured it wasn't for me but I wanted to ask, I want to try n rb engine that's tops n also novarossi base, what one should I be getting, I guess I'm looking for more mid power over my p4 engines for tracks that r really tite, let ms no.

The B10 will give you more power from the bottom to the top over the plus4, but the fuel mileage won't be quite as good as the plus4 is. The B10 is a Nova based engine as well. The only engines that are not Nova based are the Killer, and Sport engines.

Has anyone run the B11 yet?

How is it compared to the B10 in terms of power?

Help

Anyone have problems starting a gallon old ws7? I just got a used one and the pinch is so tight at tdc that I have trouble getting it "unstuck" with a pair of padded vice grips on the flywheel. I have it preheated and I backed the plug out a little and it still locks at tdc and burns up my starter box wheel. Any input would be appreciated.

@itsAUG What do you use to heat the engine?

Craftsman 1400 watt heat gun on low with a metal pipe over the head.

clio 02-27-2011 02:32 PM

That should do the job. My C6 pinched just past the 1 gallon point. After that it came loose and only had compression.

Get a Competition Heater. You will not regret it.

Absolute Hobbyz's sells them.
