My alpha 23 that I had Rex rebuild was AWESOME this weekend at Clark RC park for Rd 2 of the MWNS series. I had plenty of power and the run time was great. Qualified me 3 in the main and I was battling for 1 and I ended up finished 2. Thanks again for the awesome motor rebuild on that. In my buggy I have a lapped A5. I was having a bad weekend in the buggy but still came out 3 in the B main. Thanks again for the great work on the motors. Cant wait for my next one

Thanks, it looks great. Kendall designed it and Zac printed it.

I will be at Boy Scout camp with my Nephew next week June 23-27 so I will not be shipping anything or responding to e-mails.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Will any RW MODS drivers be at 2014 ROAR 1/8th Scale Nitro Nationals at Thornhill this week?

22Racer 06-20-2014 08:08 PM

Sorry, no team drivers at the Nats that I know of.

Hello Rex
I am looking to get an r8 for the d812. Now this is what I want to know. Can you mod it for runtime I also like the looks of the Kendall engine not sure if that was modded for run time or not. I feel the 23 could use the same mod. I would also like to get the reducer set and lapping again.

Kendalls was basically modified to be smooth and fast but with the backplate mod there is a runtime gain also. Kendall was pitting at 9 minutes, for him with any other brand engine he has ran getting 7.5 was tough. Most average racers should get over 10 mintes at most tracks with the same setup.
Zac Rose is running a D52 with a fuel mileage mod and is pitting at 10 minutes everywhere and running up front. This is more of a mileage mod than Kendalls. I could do the same mod on a R8 also.

Got to run a Cera that I added some timing on it and had RW lighten and fill the crankshaft. I don't know about the stock one but the Modified one flat out RIPS. Easy to break in, super easy to tune, Idled all day with no flame outs. Ran a P3 plug with Ofna 086 pipe in a RB One R buggy. Bottom to mid was powerful but very drivable and pulled very strong on top. Averaged around 8:30 min on a full tank with the included 9mm restrictor. Im sure mileage will only get better as it fully seats in. Plan on testing this out with a OS 2090, 2060 and the Arrow 2103 pipe but it was perfect for me in buggy with the 086. Will also try a 7mm and 8mm restrictor. This engine is SWEET not only because of the price but performance wise too. Easily one of my favorite engines in buggy now. Since its based on the Arrow/vzb short strokes, Reminded me of the days I used to run VZB speeds but with more power. Get yours from RW Mods while its still available and have Rex do some mild mods to it. You will not regret it. Next up will be a Argus D52

Well I was also at leisure hours this weekend with the finals of the midwest nitro series. I was able to start 7 in the a main in nitro buggy which was good since i was setup to run outside and we ended up running inside so had to work on car all day. I ended up 3rd which i was happy with but i was leading most of the 20 min main just got caught up in some lap cars the last few mins. I was running my stock argus d52 motor which ran great all day and all season i couldnt be more happy with these motors. Really like to thank Rex at RW Mods for the great motor all year and for the great surport and service. I ended up 7 in the point this season which was good since i didnt make one race and i had 2 races i had servo failure and finished way in the back. These argus motors are great for the price and we had 2 in the top 10 in points againt a lot of big name motors. Thanks again Rex cant wait for next season and great motors.

Rex, got a chance to run my Argus .23 after the mods I had you do to the crank. Absolutely perfect! Added a great amount of top end and didn't loose a ounce of bottom. Exactly what I was looking for out of it. This thing has some serious legs on it now.

Thanks

I bought an old grp motor for $60.
Sent the piston/sleeve into RW for a pinch.
After 4-5 tanks of run in this thing is fast(unlike the driver)
Won my first final with the grp, after a year of trying.
thanks Rex, could not be more impressed with your work.

Rex, On your site it says "name brand motors only". I have a Force .26 that I was thinking about having some stuff done too but being an RTR that I know of not sure if it would be a job you'd do.

I will only take name brand engines in for trade. For engine work/modifying I will work on anything. I will not modify an engine that is worn very much. Some of the biggest gains are with the Rtr engines.
