how long does it take for just engine bearing replacements?

22Racer 04-02-2013 08:33 PM

I can usually get them done next day if it is a rush. Otherwise I have been pretty swamped lately and it would take a couple days. Always let me know what engine you have so I can have the bearings on hand in case it is an odd size.

I am not going to be doing any motor work/modding the last week of April and first week of May. New engines will still be shipped if bought via e-mail or shopping cart on my site. Kendall my son will be handling that end but he doesn't do engine work.:)

I will say my thread may not be entertaining but there is alot of good info here. I do need to clarify this for some that have asked. I feel like the best way to resurface the top of a sleeve for a better seal is using a machinist stone. I do this to every sleeve I touch, new or used. I do think chucking up a sleeve in a 3 jaw chuck is not a good idea. It could mark up the outside or even make the sleeve out of round if you tighten it too tight. A collett is a better way to hold it but using a lathe to resurface a sleeve will not be as flat as using a stone. The factory uses a grinder on the top of a sleeve.

Finally got my Scanner order, nice looking motors and servo's. I only bought 2 1/8 servo's to test, if it all works well I will get some in to sell.
The Scanner engines came with the Trackstar logo, these are similar but not the same as the other ones. First of all these have a Dlc crank, this is a clear coating similar to the newest Go GxII Ho. I also ordered them with Skf bearings and the 3 needle carb. Should be a great running motor, I will be Race prepping these before I sell them. I want to make sure the pinch is right and will do some other work. I am extremely busy so these will have to wait until May.

Thanks Rex for the super fast turn around on the pinch for me. Can't wait till the ground dries out to burn some nitro.

No problem Jason.
Like I posted earlier, I will not be able to do any engine work until after May 7th. If you need a new engine Kendall will get it shipped out for you, just purchase it in the cart.

Did you tested the scanner engines??
What's the specs?

22Racer 05-21-2013 08:27 PM

I have ran an engine very similar, it had the same internals. I am also planning on doing some testing with them soon.

Kendall and I will be at the JConcepts Spring Nationals in Omaha, if you are there stop by and say hi:)

What is the current turn around time for an engine break-in? Also will it come back ready to race tune or will it need a little more run in?

blktransam 05-27-2013 02:45 PM

congrats to Kendall at the Jcon race pretty stacked main
