stick to the p3/p4 plugs, no reason to run a p7 in that motor.

What about running the reedy RT3 or RT4 plugs? Anyone have anything good or bad about them?

Charles Godwin 09-19-2010 05:59 AM

Yea i know a fair few people who run the RT3/4 plugs. Basically just the same as the OS versions. Haven't heard any complaints about them.

christhercguy 09-19-2010 08:39 AM

There price is my complaint. from 13-20 dollars for one.Ebay prices.:flaming:

The O'Donnell 97t works awesome in the reedy and it only cost $8.95 at my LHS

That's expensive, they're only $4.99 at my LHS.

My Reedy likes the 97T / 8mm restrictor / FT 2035 pipe combo, great power and 10-minute run time.

I think that you will like the looks but be more impressed by the performance. The plan is to begin shipping engines in October.

It should be noted that the new engine will no replace the 121VR. They will be sold along side one another.

t8rtot 09-20-2010 09:53 AM

Along side??? This new motor must be expensive..

I run the p3/p4 in my motors, Tower has them cheap if you buy them in bulk.

I ran a reedy with comparable mods that will be done to the new motor being released, I think you guys will be pleased, A whole lot smoother, and heaps more bottom end and great top end power.

Rick, has an MSRP been set for the motor yet? Just curious on cost...

Charles Godwin 09-20-2010 11:09 AM

I personally can't see it being too expensive. . . Look at the new OS engines. $350 for the speed. Whats the standard Reedy, $250???? From an educated guess i can't see it being over $400 More likely the $350 range to compete with the OS's and Novarossi's. I know this thing rips as a few team guys where using a 18T Clutch bell to tame it on a very slick track!!!

mgtmadness2007 09-21-2010 03:01 AM

So I should run a hot or super hot no matter my weather conditions?

I am running an O.S. P7 plug (medium Plug)in my Reedy Engine and it seems to be fine. Idle is good, starting it good. I am still breaking this engine in with outside temps in the mid 60's to high 60's with a humidity of well they were calling for rain last sunday but it never came.

Plugs arent cheap in my part and are hard to get. LHS will not get any more turbo plugs or fuel,(he says he is broke). The P7 is the only plugs I have which is 3.
1 in each of my reedy engines (x2) and 1 in my box.

Lots of people are saying the OD97T is a great plug which is also a medium.
How does one know when to switch between a cold, medium, hot or super hot plug? What weather conditions, humidity level calls for a change?

Thank You,
