there has to be something else people are using...the stock bearing is a lil overpriced and to top it off not the best of quality...anyone????....

Here is my quick review of the engine. i got it bolted the carb on and stripped out one of the bolt holes to hold it on. i used longer screws and carb sealer and did not tighten so much. metal on the case seems alittle soft. broke it in per manual not a problem at all. have about a half gallon in it now and two race weekends. my temps are around 245 when its 70 outside. bottom end is awesome and top not far behind the more expensive engines. im not here to say its faster than a speed or novarossi but its def. holds its own on the straight. only at the very end last 20 feet do i see where the others have a bit more top end. great engine for $230 just hope it lasts.

It comes with a reedy plug, dont remember which one. I used it for break in and now I'm running p4's

Beenbreto 05-02-2010 10:58 PM

I too have only used the Reedy plug for break in, but have successfully used the Odonnel 97T. So if you want to save a few bucks there's another option for you. Plus in my experience the 97T has lasted me a lot longer. I still have the one that I put in from last summer and it's running strong still. And if your not using it already you may want to switch to at least the 7mm venturi.

When I got my Reedy... for some reason.. it didnt come with a plug.. I ran O.S. P3's in it.. but going to switch to 97T's like my GO GX-5R
