All i know is that my friend runs noting but OS Speed's, and i keep up with him on the straights no problem. His just has a little smoother power band.

Did you contact anyone? Steve has the best customer service out there but yo won't get anything done if you don't say anything...

It has been my personal experience and winess that anyone even connected with Team Odonnell would be willing to stand up and help

but they can't do anything if You don't ask

mine has almost 2 gallon and front bearing is still ok
and is not loosing oil out off them either, like my other engines did..

punkracer24 06-22-2010 07:24 AM

I have two motors with over 8 gallons each, one with around 10 on it and I haven't had any bearing issues at all. but that certainly isn't to say that they arent possible.

because I am not sure of the answer myself.........

Is there something that you could do, or be doing, to cause a front bearing to prematurely fail?

I just changed bearings in a motor myself for the first time ever and it wasnt bad at all

Good. Glad you are getting things worked out.

I love these mill's. Had a problem with a carb with my first one, sent it to steve, and he took care of it. Since then, havent had an issue!

For the R2 exhaust, does the ROAR pipe come with the long or short manifold?

cramer 06-22-2010 11:36 AM

It comes with the short header...

Dlewis4 06-22-2010 11:48 AM

From what I was told, the R2 is the best "all-around" pipe for this engine. So it most likely has a short or mid length header

There is your answer above ;)

Thanks Scott

Does anyone know if they make a 6mm or 6.5mm restrictor for the SS.21 or know of a brand that will fit the carb?

Yep, I'm running a restrictor out of my OS Speed. Fits just fine...

Yes, mine looked like that around the 2 gal. mark, about 1 gal. it showed a wet spot behind the flywheel. Kinda sucks.... this is one great motor. I have a v-spec and a os speed tuned ....and like the ss more, because of the smoothness, this motor has and I can get 10 mins run time too from this motor...v-spec and tuned...need to come in about 8 mins. Think Steve just somehow got some bad bearings, and need to get mine shipped to him so he can hopfully pinpoint the problem, dont honestly think I did anything wrong at my end and if so ill pay the bill no problem. Its still a great motor! And my next motor will be a nother ss.:D
