Dev i can see on your signature you have hobbywing 150A .have you got one and if yu have what do you think of them ?

regards Angelo

I have it on the z01, as you can see on the signature.. the ESC seems really good, only draw back is it's size. it's huge and some people my have problems fitting under buggy body. but I can handle upto 6S so I'll prob keep it for a while. Plus it's sensored so I can put a sensored motor if I want.

motor is 2350kv and it's ok. I don't like having a fan on it. with 13t and 4S it quick temps around 170 comming off the track without a fan.

I'm most likely just gonna run like this till motor dies, then get a tekin 1500kv truggy motor. I've seen the tekin motors run and they run really cool even without a fan.

As long as you treat it with respect will do easy 10+ Dont run it lean ,dont compare it to a 7 or 8 port or a .28 and you will be fine.

just to throw it out there but over the last month and a half i have run 4 different pipes on my OD motor. the os2050, os2060, AE 2035 and the JP-1 and by FAAAAARRRR the best (for me) has been the JP-1. The motor ran like an absolute monster for the entire 45 minute main in our Region 4 champs this last weekend where i finished 3rd behind billy easton and JR mitch. so I would highly recomend that if you have not tried this pipe to get out there do it becuase I couldnt beleive just how big of a change it was over the others that I tried

I heard jp4 is an awesome match for this motor as well.

punkracer, what type of track? long and high speed? or short and technical.

JP1 is a low end pipe and would give boost to a already strong bottom

devil,

i would say it was 50/50 wide open and tight. the infield had a critical switchback/chicane section and there were two or three 180's on the track where one of which had a step down double at the exit which required a ton of pop but the rest of the track had a good flow. the straightaway started at the bottom right and went all the way around the outside of the track to the top right. to give you an idea Chad Philips from trinity, running their new .21 sirio motor, went down the front straightaway nose to tail and we were side by side at the end. so it definitely had the top end as well.

I have the engine pushing hard low and mid range
but top is not alright yet, seems anemic
what to do ?
high needle is open enough but head seems to heat already
open low needle more perhaps? jp-4 pipe system

that's awesome to hear. this motor by far has the greatest value out there.

it's perfect price point, perfect power, easy breakin and tuning, seems to work well with most of the pipes out there.

I have 2050 on it and I love it. I'll have to try my JP1 on it. I didnt' like 2060 that much. RE10 was good, and JP2 was great.

Let's spread the word, My buddies are already loving the motor when they see it run. then they ask what is that motor? I just tell them it's the Odonnell Super Special 21. haha

Marz 08-24-2009 05:21 PM

I run a JP4 pipe and 30% nitro, 6.5 venturi about 80% open and I get about 8 mins so far, with a still newish motor, on a technical grass track.
I reckon I can get 9 mins on the dirt.
What times are you blokes getting max?

Troy Pinkston 08-24-2009 05:41 PM

I am getting around 9min 15-25 secs at 225* with 30% ODO fuel, 97T plug, running the Associated 2035 pipe. I am using the stock carb insert that comes in the motor, and if you ask around you will find I am HARD on the throttle. LOL:nod: This weekend I am going to flirt with the 5.5 restrictor and go for 11min.

Thanks Troy.
Might have to see what my LHS has in stock as far as restrictors.
