I have one of the original EB Mod engines that was pre broke in before I received it. It is not the full mod engine. I've ran about 2 gallons through the engine and have had great luck so far. This past weekend the motor started giving me problems. Through the first 2 minutes of a run everything is fine. After the engine heats up I have no bottom end power. I was all over place with my tune searching for the problem and nothing seems to help. I changed the glow plug and set the motor back to stock settings. I retuned from there with still no luck. I changed the fuel tank and put new gaskets on my pipe. I also checked all my fuel lines but the problem is still there. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Check the rubber boot on your carb slide. Mine leaked there causing me fits chasing the tune around.

Check your exhaust gaskets.

You may need to richen the bottom 2 hours and lean the top 1.

I'm having trouble w/ moisture around my carb boot. I looks like it's spraying out by the fuel on the rear brake and chassis brace. Its not much, but enough to cause brake problems and possible tuning issues. how do you seal the carb boot. I have some lucky 7, but haven't been able to get the boot to seal properly. Is there a replacment boot I can buy? I replaced the LSN o-ring and still have the same problem.

slaytanic 03-11-2009 04:48 PM

Just take it off and clean it all up real good. That should do it. Also check closely for pin holes. I had a throttle return spring poke a hole in mine. I tried a little rtv to seal the boot but I don't think it helped much as it needs to flex and just breaks loose. Just get it real clean.

leak boot

yeah, that's what happened to mine. throttle return spring poked it. what boot did you replace it with? i'll clean it up and see what happens, but I'm not sure if the lucky7 will hold on the pin hole.

carb problem

I removed the boot and found a flat spot in the carb housing where the boot seats and this is exactly where the fuel is coming out. You can see the flat spot just past the end of my finger. I don't think this is normal and I believe it's causing my problem. Sorry Chad, I'll be bugging you again tomorrow or you can PM and tell me what you think.

I've been looking all through this thread for this picture. I knew I had seen a pic of it. I have the same flat spot on my carb in the exact same place. I would like to get this fixed since I have a pro series race coming up and have been trying everything to seal this boot. Now i see why it wouldn't seal. I would like to know if this is something that can be fixed quickly.

Lucky 7 will work...get things clean before applying,

The engines run the same...the Fat Boy Trinity pipe smooths it out and adds run time.

Ex tech Shimming

Chad,

The motor is a .21 full modded version.

Team Chambers 03-13-2009 12:13 PM

Chad,

How long til A-main has .24 pre runs again. I am ready to buy a back up for my first. Got 3 gallons on it now and it runs great. Pull off after a 20 min main and idles perfect @ about 210 degrees!
