hey jpalessi what exactly lis flow tested I have a general idea but just wanted a detailed explanation what they do and what they are looking for? thanks I'm glad my new extech was a ebmod one! was mad at first but then I thought about it and i was glad.
This is used for R&D, and for QC (Quality Control) http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ingCellPic.jpg |
Palessi,
Thanks for correcting me on that. Wasn't meaning to mislead. I didn't take into account the 1.0 and 2.0 mills. Other than that I think I was on track. Amezcua, Not 100% pos. on power box that A-Main has listed. When they first got the Ex-Tech.s in the descriptions weren't very clear. I think they corrected that, but I haven't looked. The power box is a very good deal if you are in need of a new pipe to go with the motor and the power box comes with a clutch set up (another plus). Even if its only the "Race Prepped" version, its still worth it. If there is a full modded motor in there, even more so. I haven't run a full modded Ex-Tech yet so I don't have any info to say that its better or not. Haven't run the Ex-Tech clutch setup either, but I do like the idea of the spring tension adjustment. I run the "Race Prepped" motors and that is plenty for me. I don't feel the motor is lacking in any area, mostly it is I that is lacking out on the track. |

I got about a half gallon thru my .24 tonight. All I can say is WOW!! 11 minutes a tank and still pretty rich. Smooth power everywhere and plenty of it.
What pipe & plug were you running. WAS yours a full mod? I ran my Race Prepped .24 for the first time yesterday and loved it. Unfortunately I was running a P6 plug and a JP 4 Pipe as that is all I had available and couldn't wait any longer LOL. I was running on the slightly on rich side on top but was only getting about 8.5 mins out of it. Our track is pretty open, so full throtle about 30% of the runtime |
mine is the Race Prepped version, I ran it with a os 2060, my extech pipe should be here today. The track I was on is kinda tight, but I was purposely driving it very hard to see what kinda run time I would get.

JP - i appreciate you coming on here and commenting. BUT you don't know what I do here with each engine before it's shipped. So please stop trying to come up with negative or false info on our engine to help Ed's cause with the Go Techs. Yes we are friends and talk on IM from time to time but what your doing is not needed.
Our engines are awesome, I examine each engine throughly and break it in before it leaves the building. IF anyone has a problem, I will fix it and they will actually get a return email, phone call, and explaination to what the problem is and they wont be waiting months to hear back about where there engine is... |
Ric - FYI - try what frank said.. and our engines are shimmed for 30%.. also make sure clinch bolt is tight.. I've seen consumers not tighten them.. ;) let me know if u have anymore trouble..

Would you be the one to service it if it needs it? Down the road do you do any re-pinching of the sleeve and check rod and crank specs out to see if it is worth pinching again for another 4 gallons or so after I hope my first 8 to 10. THX |
+1 Chad
For the rest of you use the X-tech #5 plug. It is a lot easier to tune opposed to the #6 |
Rod Replacement
Chad,
When is it generally recommended to replace the Rod on the EXTECH motors under normal circumstances. I have had RB motors (c6) last 8 gallons and My GoTechs usually around 3 to 4 sometimes longer. |
Chambers - Amain still had a few of .24 Eb's left in stock.. so there is a few of those floating around out there.. all the .21's in circulation should be the 2.0.. we have been out of those for a while and now there back in stock with the new ones..
yes i am the one servicing all the engines now.. :) Happy New Year everyone.. |
Chmabers - good question! I have seen 4-8 gallons depending on the person. I had 5 team guys return there engines and they had problems. come to find out the rods were toast. they had 2-4 gallons on there's. Now I know myself and a few other team guy had 6-8 gallons before they needed to be replaced. The difference between the guys who had issues early and the others who didnt.. was break in process.
EB was breaking in our engines on a stand wide open super rich with 500cc of fuel ran through them. Myself and a few others were breaking them in slowly on a stand with heat cycles. Now to deceide which way is right or wrong.... who can say.. Everyone has there own opinions and voo doo break in processes. I just know from my experiences slow is better and until someone figures out a better way I will keep doing it slowly.. |
Chad I don't know either of you. Talk like that is a good reason not to buy a product. You can correct info with out being nasty. The PC stuff doesn't work. Everyone can see right through it. People make mistakes helping sometimes. Give people the benefit. I bet you make them all the time. I know I do.

I was on Amain's site and was looking at the extech EB Mods box set with the losi clutch. Is this the standard untouched engine or the worked version by Ed or worked by you? I'm just getting confused since things have changed a little with the extechs recently. Either way it seems like a decent deal for the price of $395. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/29953 |
thanks chad for coming in here almost every day and promoting, "Customer Support." You don't jam Trinity down everyones throat you just give excellent customer support and that means a lot when I decided what engine to purchase.
