I've seen some fast ones at the track, so far the feedback is positive on the motor. I might try one... hmmmm:cool:

I found that this site is having a special summer sale on the new Extech's, and 4 other new race motors that are all top contenders.... here:

Thanks for the kind words Joe. I would also like to thank Chad Phillips and Ed Bridges for their help and support.
If you ever see Joe, Chad, or Ed make sure and go say high to them. Hands down some of the nicest and coolest guys you could ask to meet.

Motors are totally sick. I felt Chad's after a 30 minute main and you could have rested your face on it. Cool as could be......:ha:

Wahooooooooo
Just got mine in today!!!!!!
As soon as the new clutch set arrives, I can drop it in.

Do you guys pull the backplate, carb, pinch bolt, etc....and put sealant around them?

Right now we got HI 90's LOW 100's.
What plug would you guys run around here now.
Odonnell 30% Race Blend fuel

Ex Tech 5 or 6 if you can get em. Or NR 5/6 is a good choice.OS P4 (what I'm currently using with very good results) in a pinch will also work.

I simply ran it, did not remove/seal anything :) Well...wait, I did put a dab of O2 Safe sealant on each side of the pinch bolt. That's it though.

No need to take anything apart &/or off the engine, just clean & seal around whatever when installed!

I always seal up around the carb pinch screw on both sides, around the high-end needle/inlet fuel nipple & around the carb where it meets the engine when installed... Best stuff on the market to use is ---> (((Lucky-7 Engine sealant)))

Ran two tanks through it today. Felt nice and crisp.
Will run two more tanks tomorrow and then first club race with it.
Hope all goes well....:tire:

Leaky low speed needle boot

OK so what's the fix for the leaky low speed needle boot, engine ran like crap last night, didn't want to hold a tune, kept flaming out, all of a sudden would lean bog, and when I checked in detail noticed the all around the sliding barrel & rubber sleeve was wet, just like the pictures posted by someone else here, so what's the fix??

jpalessi 08-02-2008 08:58 AM

;)

Toiffel 08-02-2008 10:13 AM

yeah, very funny Joey, as funny as a heart attack.....

I don't know, last night it ran good for 2 qualif. and then for the main, all of the sudden a lean bog on the bottom, but when it hit on top perfect, checked the glow plug (brand new before main) and no sign of running lean, tried richening it nothing tried leaning it nothing, no bottom at all (brand new clutch) then when I inspected it I noticed that it was very wet around the same area as previous pictures posted......
and to top it off there is ver little compression......

cdbias 08-02-2008 04:11 PM

Change the carb boot. It throws the tune off. I went through the same thing for a couple weeks and found a very small tear in my carb boot. Ed put a new boot on........tune came back and gained about 1 1/2 minutes of fuel mileage back. Seriously.

If it's on a Losi make sure that its not hitting the center diff mount when the car is flexing.
