how is the tuning on these things? Every Picco/Sirio mill I have ran, I did not like the tuning characteristics at all (they were much more finicky to tune then any Nova I have had or GRP, etc)
Justin - you say they were pulling you on the straight at Homer's? I have to ask, could that not be a part of the buggy you are running?? Reason I ask is my GRP in a truggy is the fastest mill I have ran (21-5kt, Ninja, Max power M5) and I am getting 10 minutes per tank and coming off at the track at 200 degrees tops. I had heard these mills (Extech) were nice, but I was not aware they were that strong...I will be looking for some more feedback...also, is Homer gonna carry them? |
HOMER CARRIES THEM NOW
|
No I was out running everyone besides the Extechs and I was getting 7 1/2 a tank they were doing 10 and running 220's.Also in the truggy they were the 2 fastest out there 1st and 2nd also the fastest lap on the track by one second.

EXTECH TURN THE FASTESTLAPS PERIOD LAST WEEKEND
TRAVIS DUPREE HAD FAST LAP OF THE WEEKEND |
The Trinity motor might cost a little bit more then the V-Spec but you get a head you don't have to change out and I believe it comes with a ceramic rear bearing also. I pitted for Travis 2 weeks ago at the ECNS and it was the first race with the new Trinity motor and I was impressed. Now if you know Travis he can use all the power in any motor and he was. Still the motor was coming off under 200 deg. and it wasn't totally broken in yet.
I just bought a GRP 3 weeks ago but I will be looking at the Trinity motor for my next one. Later, Ed |

I just got mine today. I pulled the rear plate off and it does have a ceramic bearing, as well as a filled crank. Looks very nice inside.

Nice
Got to bolt up my EB Modded X-Tech yesterday and I tell you what..... My GRP is officially a back up motor.......atleast until I can get a 2nd X-Tech.
The bottom end power is unreal but it is still a pretty smooth power band. When it transitioned to the top it just kept pulling very hard. I watched these things blow my GRP away at the Tiltyard all weekend and then got home and mine was setting on the porch. Thank God. |
if this mill lasts for 10+ gallons it will be worth the cash but after looking at trinity's website, $200+ for a piston and sleeve it just seems way to steep for me.

I think the CL engine is a long stroke, ours is not a long stroke. Also the crank case volume is different as well. :D
