+1 - Toiffel..!
Chad, I'm just an outsider looking in & trying to let Maximo see the light! Like him I too have a lot of questions & wondering about the new age of motors coming out BUT I'm not trying to beat the info out of anyone with words, etc...! :weird: I've only been in this hobby for 3-years now & it don't take a big brain to realize that most engine blocks, etc. are the same. A block is just the base & the difference is what each company dose to it/them! |
I am an engine modifier who is interested in this new engine.... I have plenty of money to buy my own gear so sponsorship has nothing to do with anything.....I hear big claims about every new engine and the Ex-Tech is no different...So I am asking for justification to these claims......
|
so, if you have the money why don't u buy one and test it out, and let us know ur findings, we would appreciate u spread ur valuable knowledge around ;)

I watched Chap Phillips run his EX-Tech this weekend and I can justify it was fast...... Plenty of low end as well. Excellent Mill! See ya in Rome.

I just bought 2 Sirio CL7B engines..I found it to not have enough power for my applications which is why I am asking for more info on these Ex-Tech engines........ I just bought a Nova 28-7T this morning anyways... but I will kepp the new Trinity .24 in mind based off its dyno performance...

and what applications might these be?? I bet we could recommend something! ;)
I run on a large mud track... the surface is deep loose black soil, it requires a motor with huge amounts of power and snap..... So far the Picco's have been the best...... the OS 28 wasn't bad either....Now I will try Nova 28-7T and move Sirio maybe to a buggy.... |
I am loving the .21 in my truggy!! I started out with the 086 and it was good on the bottom, and psycho through the mid and top. I decided to try a 053 on it and WOW!!!! The bottom end is unbelievable!! It is still great through the mid, and tapers off a bit on the top. I could probably throw a 14t bell on it and get that top back.
For the first time ever, I am able to go over 10 minutes without pitting. I used to get around 8 minutes with all my other engines, but the ExTech just runs so well that I don't need to push it as hard, resulting in much better run time. It is still tight so I am sure it will get even better. Thanks for the support Ed and Team Trinity!! Colin |

EXTECH .24 |
merry christmas maximo
Displacement: .21c.i. / 3.49cc Bore: .643inch / 16.332mm Stroke: .656inch / 16.675mm Usable RPM Range: 5000-40000rpm Recommended Pipes: ExTech 2013 for the best bottom-end power and throttle response. ExTech 2057 for smoother bottom and harder pulling Mid and Top rpm Recommended Plugs using 30% Trinity Platinum Fuel: Turbo #5- High Humidity Days / Outside Ambient Temp Range 50*-80* Turbo #6- Hot and Low Humidity Days / or High Altitude Racing / Outside Ambient Temp Range 70*-100* Race Prepped Engine Item: TRI40064 1. Engines are blueprinted and hand assembled to guarantee precision parts fit, longest engine life and best possible performance. 2. Carburetors are inspected for damaged o-rings, and defects. Carburetors are then Flow Bench Tested and mixture valves pre-set. 3. Engines are Broken-In with 500cc of Trinity Break-In Fuel and ready to be Race Tuned. 4. After Break-In, a static compression reading is taken to insure proper Piston Sleeve fit. Engines must read 110-120psi to be with-in spec. 5. Each engine is then Dyno Tuned with Trinity 30% Platinum, ExTech 2013 pipe, and ExTech #6 Turbo plug. Dyno runs must match original baseline engine to be acceptable as a Race Prepped engine. Recommended Pipes: ExTech 2013 for the best bottom-end power and throttle response. ExTech 2057 for smoother bottom and harder pulling Mid and Top rpm. Recommended Plugs using 30% Trinity Platinum Fuel: Turbo #5- High Humidity Days / Outside Ambient Temp Range 50*-80* Turbo #6- Hot and Low Humidity Days / or High Altitude Racing / Outside Ambient Temp Range 70*-100* Fully Modified Engine Item: TRI40066 Fully Modified Engines are blueprinted and hand assembled to guarantee precision parts fit, longest engine life and best possible performance. The exact same procedure is preformed as the Race Prepped engines except the following changes have been made to offer more usable rpm and power. 1. Connecting Rod is machined on Mill to be lightened, and then treated to strengthen and eliminate machining stresses. 2. Piston is lightened on Milling Machine while maintaining strength and integrity. 3. Crankshaft has undergone extensive R&D testing with different ratios of balance between the Crankshaft, Piston, and Rod assembly. All this testing has helped develop a lighter better-balanced crankshaft, while keeping proper crankshaft inertia for a smoother idle. 4. Port Timing has been adjusted to offer a more liner feel across the bottom-end with a noticeable increase in the Mid and Upper rpm power. Usable rpm range is increase from 40,000rpm to 45,000rpm over stock. Recommended Pipes: ExTech 2013 for the best all around power and tune. Recommended Plugs using 30% Trinity Platinum Fuel: Turbo #5- High Humidity Days / Outside Ambient Temp Range 50*-80* Turbo #6- Hot and Low Humidity Days / or High Altitude Racing / Outside Ambient Temp Range 70*-100* |
