Quick question guys. This is my first Pre Run motor, how much fuel should I run before I race or is it ready? Thanks

I did 3 tanks idle. 5 tanks rich running on the track and then starting tuning in small increments. I takes about 1 gallon before the engine comes alive.

This motor was Pre run at EB at least that is what it says on the A-Main web site and it has been Dyno tuned, they also say it is ready for a race tune. Was your motor the pre run or the stock one? You also say run the OS P3 plug, have you run the o'donnell 97t. The OS plugs are short turbo plugs.

Even though it says it's "pre-run," you're still going to want to go through the normal break-in process. It takes close to a gallon before it will run the way it's supposed to. Also, if you haven't already, seal the engine backplate, carb and pinch bolts. This will help when you start tuning the engine.

Does anybody know where I can get a conrod? Like now not in 3 months.

Try A Main Hobbies. They have them in Pre-Order status on their site. If you call customer service (800) 705-2215, they should be able to give you an ETA.

I have only ever ran the P3. Has been working perfect for a year now. I have only had to replace one glow plug that went bad. All of the other times was just regular maintenance.

I have gone 4 race days on one plug before. They are amolst double the price but if it works dont fix it.

1 gallon and the engine comes alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you have the the stock non "pre run", remember that it is still shimmed for 30% nitro.I have about 2 gallons on mine and it just really came to life last week. I run the Ofna 086 pipe and can make a 20 minute main on 1 pit stop, barely make it, but make it...Just be careful not to clutch it too lightly, with all the bottom end it has you can find yourself pulling triples that don`t exist! lol

how does the extech and the ninja compare. I have a couple ninja's and want something different. thinking about the nova plus 4 and extech.

How do they compare, and how hard is it to tune?

matrixmike28 01-14-2010 04:59 AM

I would not recommend it. The engine runs great but there is absolutely no parts availability or customer support.

Are any of you guys running P4's or P7's in your motors. I have been running P3's and I get a flame out or 2 every 2 races or so. I have heard p4's I believe are the way to go I think.
