i havent seen this issue with sidewinder. my engines run the same temps as others

all depends wich Sidewinder you run or fuel for that matter. Fuel that has more oil in it tends to run a little hotter.....

If you outside temps are 80+ and you have a GRP that is still around the 1/2 gallon mark don't be affraid if it hits 200-220. Mine was running right around those temps at the Nitro Challenge and it was 90 degrees outside. After a couple more qualifiers temps started dropping and my engine was running around 180-190.

Just ran my engine again this weekend, and its starting to break in, its making a little more power and it was temping about 150-160 but outside temps were in the 40's.

If your past 1 gallon you shouldn't see temps over 200.

my friends tuned has 2-3 gallons through it. i can hear and feel that its lean, the temps just confirm this. i think he must have some tank issues! after this being his 3rd grp that will not tune and is probably going to burn up, he is not a fan. i keep trying to tell and show him otherwise! i have minimal trouble out of my mario rossi engines!

your lucky you dont live in az... if the n.c was in july it would be 115

but i see what you mean on the new engine. my grp has like 2 gallons or so on it and it runs at 160-165 all day but my dad has maybe 1/2 a gallon and his runs at 220-225.i didnt know what to do and so we took it to mike thrue and he tuned it, he actually leaned it out a tiny bit more and said dont worry about temps, power, or fuel consumsion till after the gallon mark

Hey I know a bunch of guys recommend the dynamite 053 pipe for the non tuned engine but will any of these come even close to its performance. Jp3, sportwerks 053, os 2060, or a jp1? I can get good deals on these, also I have a dynamite 086 so would any of those pipes be better than the 086 on the non tuned version?

the sportwerks and dynamite 053's are very similar, the sportwerks stinger does not have material added for strength and it uses a slightly different header, it has a header that uses 2 90 degree bends with a straight section in between and the dynamite uses a single 180 degree bend.

The dynamite 053 works great much better than the grp 2053. I have also been trying out the trinity bad bay pipe. It seems free but I don't have any track time on it. I have used these on a tuned .21 modded powerhouse .21 and a tuned modded powerhouse .21. These are great pipes for these engines. The nova 9853 works well too.

derek- i would recommend this engine over the other choices that you have stated, i ran the tuned version in my truggy and it had good power, the picco/jammin's have carb issues, and the extechs dont have the longest life span they are sirio based they make good power but are not the most reliable

I run the non tuned in my rc8t. It seems to have just a little more bottom end than the tuned version, but run times arent as good with the non tuned. But since its in a truggy with a bigger tank, run times are still better than thirsty .28's. I get about 8:30-9 mins on a tank with a slight rich setting.
