If they wanted to reuse the previous designs from the GRP engines, why didn't they take them out before they set the fire?
I had a Ninja MR21 B01 that I'm parting out. I've got a few parts left, if anyone of you is interested just pm me, check out my forsale thread here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...1b01-21-a.html As far as I know, most parts are interchangable between the MR ninja and the GRP. |

I ran the GRP for the first time today (picked up used). With the 2053 pipe this thing has a lot of punch; instant acceleration. I've read comments stating it was light on low end grunt but this one is a monster on the bottom with the GRP pipe. I'd like to get a little more top out of it, is there a pipe better suited for that? I'm using a 6 or 6.5mm carb restrictor.
Ran the Losi 350 with the 2053 last weekend and it was a frickin monster. Better than the GRP throughout the RPM range. Does the 6.5mm restrictor kill that much top end? I havent pulled it out yet but plan on trying it out this weekend but it is just flat out dead on the top end right now. Like I stated earlier, low end punch is awesome.
they scream on the top end. My .21 tuned is my backup now to the b5( still run the 2053) They are weird talking about tuning. They love to be fat on the bottom, lean on the top. Shame about replacement parts, would still be in my buggy if it wasn't for finding parts. By far the easiest do drive engine i ever owned.
I didnt notice a whole lot of difference in performance messing with the high side needle but the low side needle made significant changes to the performance of the engine. I know the engines can perform, just not sure what it wants as it reacts different than the rest of the engines I've run.
ya they are VERRY touchy to tune. The easiest time I had tuning one was with a GRP plug. With a P3 its verry touchy. A P5 gave a bigger tuning window. I serisouly lost count on thee amount of gallons of fuel through mine, but it's high.
Does anyone know what the dimension are for the carb needle orings on the GRP motor ? I need to replace one and It would be a big help.Or were can I get some? Thanks

GRP SILVER TOP
I want to start racing this year and I'm considering picking up a GRP silver top .21 from a friend for my kyosho st-rr. I't only has a 1/2 gallon on it. Is this engine considered broken in with only a 1/2 gallon through it? Does anyone have any information about this engine? Whats a good pipe for this engine? I'll probably be running the st-rr at revelation raceway in Ontario, California. Any Info would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find any info on the Silver top anywhere on the net.
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. "LOSR2001 Losi GRP Engine, Buggy .21. The GRP .21 Buggy Engine is designed in Italy by GRP, under the direct technical supervision of Mario Rossi. This 1/8-scale non-tuned racing engine is produced with high-quality materials and undergoes a thorough manufacturing process. The engine's Temperature Control System (TCS) keeps the heat from the block from transferring to the carburetor causing intake changes and running out of tune. All of the components used in the non-tuned engines are interchangeable with GRP’s tuned engine parts. This allows the non-tuned engines to be customized for increased performance, while eliminating the need to purchase a new engine. Each engine comes in a GRP plastic box, complete with decals. Type: 1/8 Buggy Displacement: .21 cu in Bore: 16.27mm Stroke: 16.79mm Engine (Only) Weight: 355 g Crankshaft Threads: 14mm RPM Range: Up to 38,000 rpm Fuel: Nitromethane Cylinder Type: ABC # of Ports: 5 Carb Type: Aluminum" I ran one in my Losi 8-T 2.0 truggy and loved it. Not as touchy to tune as the tuned versions but still plenty powerful. www.overdriverc.com |
