Dont know what to buy

After an airfilter malfunction my Go 5 port got hungry and ate some dust ending its life at a club race this weekend. I have to admit I was a little heartbroken and couldnt bring myself to bin it. Instead i pulled it apart and oiled it before sitting in a draw never to be used again. I was like loosing a family pet  I also have a MG66 and honestly think with a good tune the standard 5 port was as good. Now I have the chance to buy another motor
Do you think i should grab a MG66 or the new 5 port. I know this will start a bit of a debate, but I dont know what to put in my truggy. My new engine choice is in your hands :D

I'm planning on doing the transplant tomorrow morning Giz. I will let you know what it runs like later in the week when I get a chance to hit the track.

grizz if u get the time it would also be interesting to see the MG P/R/S in the HO & what differences that would make ie: runtime, throttle response, bottom end, & top ;)

For truggy I would go with the GXII-5RHO. If for no other reason the lighter weight and newer technology. It does have supurb smooth power as an added bonus . I sell both motors, and at this time that would be my advise for a truggy motor.

engine mount

hi guys was thinking of upgrading my engine mount in my 2010 xray 808, will the detachable top mount that comes with the kingsheadz engine mount be suitable for the new gxii or does it require a different top mount?is the standard or the extended version the most suitable or does it matter for the buggy im putting it into

Havent seen the kings heads' mount, but the GXII has standard .21-.28 mounting dimensions. If it works with other engines, it should work with ours.

it will bolt right up to either mount, mounting is standard on the GXII's

Gizmatron 05-30-2011 09:56 AM

for the 808 get the extended mount..stops the flex around the flywheel cutout..

Oh and guys ...put the GXII crank in my MG66 today...OMFG..this combo is insane quick..love it...
