just wondering...thanks,

better carb, better o rings, you get an extra rod with it. 160 brand new from rex. A c/p/s/r would cost more then that. This way you get all that anew case head etc and an extra rod for cheaper.

is there any way to tell the actual internals of the gx5r versus the 21 5 port!....i was told my motor is a gx5r but the original case was cracked!...was also told it has an eb mods crank in it!...the crank is coated black

well,do the old carbs have the gold throttle slide barrell?.. cause this 1 does which i know for sure the new 1s do!....i bought it locally from an honest racer but only paid $60 so i am kinda still looking for the catch as to why he sold it to me for only $60....so far everything is all good!....when a motor is practically still new with tight pinch, does it show the brown fuel burning residue on the connecting rod where it meets the wrist pin?....or does that take time to build up?....cause like i said if i dont heat it up before i start it the piston will get stuck up @ tdc,and i was told it barely had 2 gallons on it!..just making sure it wasnt just pinched before he sold it to me to make it feel like a new motor!

deadmancourt 08-09-2010 12:56 AM

this is the motor!...i bought it personally from him,not on ebay! just scroll down a little to see the pics, cause this is an ended auction!

looks older to me. The screw is black which on my gx5r dont think it is. They are the older venturi inserts, older case. Idk man. sent u a pm

deadmancourt 08-09-2010 01:12 AM

i bought the motor locally!

deadmancourt 08-09-2010 01:36 AM

do you think he ripped me off?

if it has good pinch, rod is good, and runs well, just feel lucky you got a good engine, 99% of the used engines i buy off here need rods and or piston and sleeves. it does look like the newer gen to me.

for $60 put it in & flog it, & see how it goes, if it's good you got a bargin, if it's not you've got plenty of spare parts for a new one !
i would check the carby crank seal & make sure it's not the brown one, if it is change it to the new one (black nitrile) :D

deadmancourt 08-09-2010 01:34 PM

well i talked to him and he said its still not broken in!....which explains the reeeaaaalllyyy tight pinch!...so far i have put 2 tanks through it and it runs and idles great!....plus it has the hardcoated EB mods crank in it!...so for $60 this guy pretty much gave it to me for free! it has the right carb on it with the gold throttle slide barrel

I don't race buggy (truggy only) but the MG66 is awesome in a buggy, but besides that the gx7 is more suited to buggy that the gx5.
