Which OS plug do you guys recommend for the 7-port turbo in 30-40 degree weather conditions?

I had it out Saturday with a P6 and it ran like poo. I couldn't find a tune it liked on the low end but it would scream like a banshee once it cleared out.

I went back to the suggested setting of 1 turn in from flush and it didn't like that either. Once I got it where it seemed okay it was too lean and wouldn't come down in rpms after WOT like it does when it runs out of fuel or the high end is too lean.

I feel like tuning these motors is supposed to be really simple yet I am horrible at it I know the cold weather doesn't help at all...but I have the bug lol.

super hot! I kinda figured. thanks.

There was a guy telling me that cold plugs are good for cold temps which made no sense to me and threw me off for a minute so I figured I'd ask.

Hey guys, looking at getting a 7 port. I understand from Russell that clutching and pipe are critical to tunning this monster. What are some of you guys running? Have you done any clutch tunning, if so what? Be specific. Thanks all!

on my 7port i run 7mm carb insert, 053 and 2047 pipe, 13T clutch bell with 2-1.0 and 1-1.1 mugen springs with mugen Al shoes...this combo is working well for me...

Petevette, i am getting as much fuel through the motor as i can, I'm runningf one of my7 ports in my RC8, i have AE stock shoes in know but i will be putting in M2C hard light shoes PART# 3543, i changed to 1 1.0 and 2 1.1 springs, the 2 1.1 and 1 1.0 seemed a little much on the street so this should help tame it, i have a 2060 on it know but will try some different pipes this weekend at the track, it's a small tight indoor track, if your fast you can go low 13 second laps. on the stock 7 ports getting this set up right isn't hard, you just want to get the powerband up a few notches abouve what would normally be the low end, and from there, hold on, this thing will take off hard, to date, on my 7 ports the 1005 pipe made the motor pull the hardest, i ran all alum 1.0 springs in my CEN with this combo, and went to 5 thou in the center diff, i can see me doing this on the AE as well.

Thanks Brian and Jason, I'll definitely be trying those set ups. Brian, let me know what you learn from the different pipes your gonna try. I keep hearing that the .053 is a good match. I would like to know what other pipes work well besides the 2047. Also, interested in hearing how the M2C shoes work. Thanks again. You guys just saved me a bunch of experimenting time.

the 053 is good on the 7 port, if it doesn't have enough top with that use a short header to get some back, but it seems to take a very long strait to top out the 7 ports, i will keep you posted man, i will keep you posted on the shoes as well, the AE shoes are soft as butta, the M2C should be the ticket.

Great, looking forward to the update. That is exactly what I am running now, a RC8 with associated shoes.
