Satoch I agree with you, you should be able to pit at 7.5min consistantly with these engines. Which is very good economy for a stock engine. I know people who have gone 10min. but it is the exception and not the rule. As far as your run time goes, if you switch to a turbo button you will see about an additional 45 seconds of run time. Which would allow you to pit at 7.5min with the stock restrictor.

Turbo's get great mileage... With Os P3, OD 30%,dynamite 086, 14 tooth gearing in 8T, temping at 245 via exergen I've been getting about 7 minutes racing mileage. My Mugen mbx5r with 13 tooth gets about 8 minutes with same config on pits.

I'm going to order one of the 7 port turbos this week and need a strong reccomendation for a pipe.

I like the JP3 and JP2 but am looking for another pipe to try while my funds permit me to.

Also Russ says to add another .1mm shim. Will the Novarossi shims be ok? I can't find any GO shims and have lots of Nova shims in my selection.

Thanks in advance...

Depends what type of vehicle and what type of track you're running on. I'd a 053 type of pipe for all around power or JP1 for a technical track or a 086 for a smooth big track with long straights. The latest batch of 7 ports come with an extra shim to be added for 30%. I've used RB C6 shims in the past and they fit pretty well. I'd assume shims for other motors with similar bore size should also fit.

I'm getting a 7 port and I'm going to use a Sportwerks 053 and Short "U" header. It's the same as this one from Dynamite but black.

O53 on the 7port for sure its a sweet combo, great bottom and great top, any .21 size head shim will work.

i have owned all the JP pipes and now with me running the GO motors i only own two pipes...

053 and 086

053 stays on my car the most!

Are we speaking of the OFNA pipes 053 and 086?

They are very reasonably priced. May get both and play around with them...

Thanks fellas, gonna order this motor really soon.

Go with the Dynamite 053. It's cheaper, hardcoated and has the stinger reinforced. An all around better buy.;)

Hey Guys figured you could help me with my Go problem.Im and electric guy at heart so this engine lark is abit new to me:rolleyes:

Just purchased my second 7 port .21 Go engine after having good results with my old one! Only problem is ive got the run this one in myself :D

Have got all the info off the race industries website, have wrapped head in tin foil and pre heated head to 160* but carnt seem to get it to turn over without the piston getting locked at the top, anything i can do to free this up before i stick it back on the box? Sorry for the dumb questions but its not as easy as plug and go!

Cheers guys

Make sure your starter box is fully charged, and try to pre heat it to 200 if you can.

magbarn 08-28-2007 06:38 AM

Yeah I preheat mine to over 200F Just make sure the tin foil is keeping the hot air form hitting the plastic carb. You don't want that one getting hot. My 5 port, when brand new, was hard to turn unless you get it over 200F.

satoch 08-28-2007 12:10 PM

Why has the cost of these engines been raised $90? I remember when the 7 port was $209. I got my 5 port for $187.50 shipped to my house from A-Main with a $12.50 coupon. Now the 7 port is $299! At that price I'll just spend another $25 and get an RB WS7III.

I took a chance last year on Go Tech, had good luck so I promoted the things and now I can't afford a replacement. That's crap! :flaming:
