You just bought 1 of the hottest engines on the market. Get yourself a heat gun and be patient while breaking it in and you will have 1 superfast engine.

Ya I think stock is 1.0, I've got a gallon mine and is about done now.

yeah..you'll notice a power increase, and better run time too.
When in doubt! Lean it out!

Malik, There is no need for a heat gun. The engines come broken-in, ready to race tune.
They are still tight, so i would be on deck the start of the race before warming it up.

Oh yaeh I forgot about the pre run in. I will never forget the nightmare I had breaking in my PTM 5 port LOL.

Yeah! the GO engines are super tight!

bigmatt 02-25-2009 07:23 AM

has any one else tried the jp-4 pipe with the go 5 port? It's what I am using and seams great from bottom to top.

malik 02-25-2009 07:41 AM

The JP pipes are OK but restrictive on GO's get an 0801 or Dynamite 086 and you will see the engines full potential.

Rocket42 02-25-2009 07:48 AM

InfernoTb theGo pipes are made outof alumn. and alumn. is a metal that doesnot rust. probably the spotting you are seeing is some oil being burned onto the pipe from a fuel spillage. If you can't clean it off with some solvents and elbow grease then a lot of people will place the pipe in a crock pot filled with antifreeze and that seems to clean them up really well

I ran the JP-4 when I first got my 5PT, it was okay, runtimes were not that good though. Now i'm running the Go 0801 and it just blows away any other pipe I have tried, best performance on the 5PT, getting 10 min run times with the Go 6.5 restrictor and I'm even running a 14T clutch bell.

ok im new to the hole nitro engines thing. not really new to the whole tunning process of them, but when it comes to running different shims under the button, how do you know how many to run? i am running a p3 plug in a GO .21 3 port and right now it has 2 brass shims and the 1 aluminum shim and i am running 30% byrons fuel.

also i just got a new piston/sleeve/conrod for it as it is about to go out here soon. will i be ok breaking in these new parts with 30% fuel? i cant find 20% anywhere. no one around my parts sells anything less than 30%

thanks for the help

I'm looking to install them on a Go 21 5 port wonder if there are good choice for the motor?? any other recommendation are welcome:nod:

REVX 02-25-2009 02:21 PM

I have read a lot of posts claiming that Go's run "Short" OS style plugs, i guess i dont understand, the plugs that Go manufacturers are standard or some would say Long plugs??? Why would they make a plug thats not right for there engine?
