Ultraspeed from what i have heard I could be way off on this as rumors can be. I heard the Jp-4 was a 2047, Like I said not even 60% sure on that. But I haven't tested many 3 chamber pipes because we are not required to run them in the U.S. Plus the dynamite pipes offer good run time and performance and the hardcoated version is $50. Both dynamite pipes allow the engines to breath well, especially when compared to the Jp-1, Jp-2.

Vti I really hate to be like well your engine didn't feel strong because you need this part. I hate promoting products like that, but the Go engines do perform much better with a turbo plug, The only time to really run the standard is to detune the engine.

Lon_L congrats on your purchase i am sure you will be happy with the overall performance and the powerband of the Go engine. The Best Turbo plug is the O.S. p3, but if your on a budget the O'donnel 77t also performs very well and is a little cheaper.

Rocket,

Thanks for the speedy reply :)
I have some P3's and P6's so I guess Im set.

hmm... thanks for the reply rocket. also will the 97t plug work good in this motor? i just orderd 2 of them but i have one p3.

SKOT 10-30-2007 10:07 PM

I just ordered a new rod for my 5-port tonight, but Amain was out of the Go Tech G-clips. Can I use the O.S. V-spec clips instead? I have a couple packs of those around here.

Rocket42 10-30-2007 11:17 PM

Any .21 G-clip should work fine, just make sure its tight.

I have been wanting to try a 97t but i haven't had the chance yet. I think that it would work good in the engine but, it may make the tuning window a little narrower.

I am currently running a EB Mods Vspec and a JP Mods B5. I am anxious to compare the Go. If it is anywhere near the performance of my current motors I will be ecstatic. I realize my current motors are mods and the GO isnt, so I dont expect the same performance. I just want to see how close it can come for 1/2 the price.

alot of guys are running OS P3's I personally run novarossi #6

hey Rocket
the JP4 is actually the HN 2062 not the 2047.
A couple of the HN factory drivers over here have been using the 2062 for a few months now and say that their overall performance and run times have increased over the 2047

If you change the rod and G-clip, are there other parts that should be swapped at that time? My 5pt just loosened up, so I'm thinking about a turbo head and rod to install after my last plugs are worn out. Everything seems to be in great shape still, even after cooking it at 380f for a 6min qual one night when my fuel tank lid lost pressure.

If you’ve had it that hot I’d keep a close eye on the bearings. If they start to feel notchy at all replace them. TKO ceramic bearings are so affordable that’s what I run in all my engines. They last longer and handle higher temps better than steel ones. It’s cheap insurance IMO. http://www.rctech.net/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

I just noticed there is a thread for Go engines in the "engine" section of this forum...:confused:

Why do these engines run so HOT?
At those temps that you all say they run ANY engine would be a monster.
I mean my hyper 4 port engine would fly by an O.S. V-spec if i run it at 300F.

They don't run hot unless you're running them too lean. My 5 port is rock solid at 230f all day long.

i'm planning to get a .21 7 port go tech engine. any suggestions on how should break-in, and waht plug should i used? should i add another shim before i ran it? tnx :)

jpz_67 10-31-2007 07:16 PM

I would suggest the use of a heat gun and installing the additional shim for the break in period. My 5 port turbo was extremely tight when new and still remains very tight. The heat gun will loosen the engine up making it easier to start and save your rod from any excessive wear. I am having better luck with os p3 plugs, odo 97t's dont seem hot enough. I have about 1.5 gallons through my motor and things are definitely coming around, better temps, more power, and better fuel economy. So far I am very pleased with my go engine and plan on putting another one in my soon to arrive mbx5t.
