yep
I have a 5 port with jp-2 in my 5T and the 3 port r in my 5R with a Dyn. 086. I did add the shim and am currently running P3 plugs in both. Very pleased with them.

just ran my 5 Port in my Hyper 8.5 at the RC Pro Series Round 1 Texas and man, I love this engine, I like a lot it's idle and it never flames out, saw many RB's and Novarossi engines there and many many of them were flaming out big time!

Hi Mark (aka Massive Mods)
It's Saeyan from murwillumbah, thanks for prompt and efficient service. Ordered my GO 3 port R spec on Thursday morning at my door step by midday Friday, now that customer service. Very happy with the motor so far great performance for the price. Its only had about 2.5 litres through it, tweaked high end by 3/4 turn and low end by 1 full turn. Once fully broken in I will tweak both high and low end further. Super easy engine to break-in and an immense performance difference between the GO and the OS VG (P) which I owned previously, GO being better, very happy so far. 1 one more question, when I finally race tune should I turn my engine to 100% throttle opening or where I want the throttle to open to which is 75% and set end point from there. I noticed with 100% throttle and still in the break in procedure I was getting too much wheel spin, therefore I was not driving efficiently. Thanks for all you help. |
Hi guys,
I seem to have a minor tuning issue with my Go 5 port normal plug. I usual run my buggy on Sunday afternoons in tropical climate. The engine runs great while it is warm & hot (around 34 deg C ambient). However, as evening approaches, it becomes rather rich (I think) & idles really low & fames out if one is not constantly throttling the buggy. I am using a dynamite 086 pipe. The solution to this is to lean the low end needle to bring the idle up. Then, the next weekend, I have to richen the needle to bring the idle down as then repeat the cycle. This is not good as most of the races that I will participate in run from morning to late afternoon. Don't want to have to fiddle with the engine during the most critical time of the race weekend. What are the area that I can look at to try to eliminate this ? Any advice is appreciated. BTW I am a novice in nitro & I love my GO. It is relatively economical & pain free to tune except the recent issue mentioned above. I have run other engines but it looks like I have settled for this particular make. Regards, Joe Ling |
That's the price we have to pay for using nitro engines.
You have to constantly tune the engine through qualifiers to mains...morning to afternoon. If you don't tune, it will be either rich or lean depending on the conditions and eventually ruin your engine...which is what most racers do because of this. |

Basic rules:
Cold weather=open needles Warm weather=Close needles Very small adjustments are required but you will have to fine tune after this. What i usually do to save me time...i open the needles a bit so that i know i'm running rich and close the needles to fine tune. It's very easy to tune a slightly rich engine than running after a lean tune. Start the engine and keep it on the starter box while blipping the throttle until the engine gets some temp. Then do some very short WOT, you will learn how it should react to this WOT when is on the tune. A very rich engine on the box will run rich on the track. A CRAZY engine on the box means you are way too lean. A very responsive engine on the box will run a bit lean on the track. What you should be after is a clean smooth revving with a lot of smoke and minimal hesitation down low. |
Well, just got my 3 port broken in and wow! Fantastic little engine! Loads of power and a good turn of speed, so looking forward to getting it on the track.
Had a slight accident however and dented my pipe, any way to sort that out? will it affect performance at all? Thanks to Brandon for the help! Paul |
