Keep this in mind. If the sealing surfaces are good then there is no reason for sealer to be used. Please I cannot stress that enough. Man it becomes a mess and makes a mess at the same time. We have had no luck with it. I am sure that others do, but a oring seal is one of the best ways to seal any surface that is fitted like a model engine is. Carb into case, backplate into case. You get the idea. Feel the orings look at them if they have flat spots replace them I know you will more then likely have to order them or something but it will prevent a large mess with sealer that will just fill the gap that the oring should be in. And when the fuel hits it depending on the sealer used may not stay may disove as nitro is highly corrosive.

Ultraspeed, you can purchase just the button head and make your standard engine a turbo.

Pooldoc, first switch to hotter plugs, that will really help the idling, O.S. p3 or O'donnel 77t. Then try addidng a shim and see if that helps with the plugs, While you have it apart be sure and check your idle gap and make sure its within 1mm-1.5mm. so you can make sure your tune is correct.

Satoch, it may be a good idea to check the rear bearing and see if it is in good shape. Pulling the thin head shim should help.

Tore down the 5 port and I found the problem-2 big chips in the piston sleeve. What a bummer cuz after 5 gallons the thing still has a great pinch!

Anyone know where I can get a piston/sleeve fast? I have a point series race coming up in a week and a half and I'd really like to run this engine.

Thats not so good. Man you should be ableto get the set expressed. Are they not over in Austrailia or something. You will pay for it but you will get it. If you would like my recommendation. I would be real careful with just replacing the piston/sleeve at this point. There was metal that ran through the engine so check the bearings and rod and crank. Man it may be better to replace entire engine if more then one of the listed are bad. Check the crank pin also big place for damage after metal has gone thorugh. Sorry to hear that but you did get 5 gallons not so so bad!!!!!

Could some one tell me where to buy Go Tech in the US? I don't want to go Ebay as I am pretty sure they sell the series 1. Which I don't want. Also, is the new .28 considered a "sport" engine? I was thinking of trying one out in my Matrix truggy. I am one of those guys who doesn't want to run what everyone elso runs. Around here all you see is V-specs. I currently have Radical mills that no one else runs and they are unbeleivable but I here nothing but good stuff about the Go's.

satoch 09-18-2007 06:15 PM

Slaytanic, I know where you race cuz I race there too, and I'll grant you there are several V-Specs but lots of RB's, Ninja's, Werks, SH, and a few Go Tech's also. No one runs the Radicals because after Mikey Czech had problems with his they died. He's had a lot of problems with his Werks also.
