I've tried the go champion 5 port in truggy. Its early barely a gallon thru it. Raced it on a med size track it cleared quad easily. Crazy bottom and torque. Idles well I like it so far.

i believe the go champion 5 port uses the old 5 port sleeve 21-2205, and the new r21 is new design and cheaper than gx2+. honestly i do prefer go engines
I must say that these GO engines are superb value for money, what I don't understand is why the current GO factory has such a weird/nasty marketing mentality. The two best GO Engine distributors we ever had in New Zealand and Australia, have been treated really badly by the new GO marketing regime. I am just grateful I managed to buy all my GO engines and spares while they still had them in stock, as I will never purchase GO Engines from the new 'South Paciffic' distributors ever, out of principle. * All 'Tuning Tips' courtesy of 'grizz1' . |

I run a 'Massive Mods MG66X' which is awesome!! I have nearly finished running-in* one of my new GO GXII-5RHO Engines, which is sounding beautiful and feels like it's nearly ready to provide some great torque too.

Your lucky to have those mint GXII-5RHO and MG66 engines - both great examples of what was a very cool era in value for money engines down-under. The MG66 in particular was a simply stunning engine (thanks to Mark at Massive Mods). Yes - a lot of water has gone under the bridge since those days, and we have now moved on to much bigger and brighter things with companies in the USA and Europe who treat the people that work hard to promte and distribute their products a whole lot better. I'm not familiar with who is dealing GO in these parts now, but when the company started dealing "out the back door" and shafting their loyal and hard working distributors who were trying to keep products afloat despite a drop in manufacturing and desgin standards as well as suicidal marketing ploys - we just pulled the pin and moved on. It was a pity, as they had a great market here in the South Pacific. Now (here in NZ anyway), the product is unheard of these days. Enjoy those engines - you have a bit of .21 nitro history there :) |
Hey every one I NEED help I have a traxxas T-MAXX pull start an I have not been able to the thing started since I got it......I got nitro for it......I pull an pull an pull an still dead Nothin an I don't know if Itz the glow plug this is the first nitro truck I have every owned so I kinda need to know everything I can.. so if anyone tell me want to do that would be great

Go Engines belly up?
So I've been selling these engines for a couple of years now, been trying to contact them since around 2 months with no reply, even called a few times to the company phone but now it seems inexistent. Does anybody knows what's going on there? Could it be that GO Engines has finally closed doors?

Sadly I just got confirmation that GO engines has closed doors last month.... very sad news
Fortunately, the wonderful man who designed the best micro engines that the GO Engines factory ever made, left to start up Alpha, so all is not lost nosepick ;) :tire::D:tire: |
I came across a new R21 G5PT modded GO Engine the other day, done by the same person who done my Godzilla engine (GX5R) in Australia, thought about buying it but didn't, probably should have if they have closed.

I don't care about their competition engines as they were just a little better than an rtr engine. In this area I moved on to Triton and never looked back, these engines are so much better. The ones that I will miss are their pullstart engines as they were good and cheap and were my best Sellers. If anyone knows a company that makes pullstart engines as good as the GO please pm me. |
