More Fun with Government
So...I've been on this, and I've lined up some help from southwestern Washington. I have some for-real loggers in the extended family who are looking for work and are willing to come up and take out the trees. They figure they can take most of what's there for lumber and/or pulp. They come up, no bids or permits or other expenses, only their labor, equipment and fuel, and clearcut the site. Wham bam, a huge chunk of work, and we don't touch the $19K the park has set aside.
The parks department likes it, too. HOWEVER, who should get wind but the state department of ecology? So, an EIS has now been requested. Obviously, our 200' square of blackberry bramble and trees constitutes a meaningful chunk of western Washington's wildlife habitat. The abundance of elk, flightless woodpeckers, and flourescent poison frogs commands restraint
Anyway, it's coming along. Just a slice of RC education I never expected to acquire. Stay tuned.

I laugh I cry I feel your pain, but to ease your pain a little,.....even the county has to get permits from its self to do needed work at the dump. and it has to get inspected when done. And just by ONE guy..
include pictures of replanted shurbs, barked area, and a holding pond for run off, they will like you more.

Not trying to put the cart in front of the horse, but while doing some VTA research, I ran across this track and corresponding video. Looks like a nice setup in my opinion.

EIS and Schedule
A quick update on the SeaTac project.
First off, it's all good, but one should never be lulled into believing that planning and development on the public's land will be an easy or quick processs. Crikey!
Anyway, I attach the EIS for the track, for those who like to peruse such things. The next steps are to post the notice at the site itself, notify the neighbors by mail, and give time for response. I expect the notice to be posted in the next couple weeks. Thankfully, the parks office will handle the mail. Well, the parks office and the planning office and the permit office.
In the meantime, I will continue to try to scare up funds. But, if anyone has contacts, please do not hesitate to shoot a PM or an email to [email protected]
