It depends if you can afford? like JP FX12 T-05s, NOVAROSSI N12LL5 bet. $250 - $310 thats only stock engine. If you go to MODIFIED engine around $350 - $410 go to this website http://www.rc-toro.com/index.php/cPa...503ff493641b11

Any of the better engines will have plenty of power. The most important thing to consider is what is going to be legal where you race. 5 ports are usually not legal, most manufacurers would put the best into the 3 ports because that is the worldwide excepted norm for racing. Anyone that asks what is the best engine is generaly new to the racing scene & would not usually require the fastest engine on the market to get started. My advise would be pick up a nice OS TR 3 port .12 or a RB V.12 (not a Rody) or a Novarossi S3. The OS would be the slower of the 3 but very easy to tune & either the RB or Nova go plenty hard enough to get started. Engines have a fairly short life so spend the extra on better radio equipment & then by a Rody or JP later on when you get used to racing. Also the NTC3 is not fragile, I raced one for 3 years & only just changed to the 710 only because the belt drive cars are better on long tracks. The NTC3 is a great short track or carpark track racer, get the FT kit & buy an extra ball diff for the front & put the oneway away until later (the oneway gears are a weak point if you hit stuff)

MRX_Joe21 think before you post, you sound like you are quoting snippets from magazine reviews. Give advise when you know what you are talking about, not just for the sake of getting your post count up.

Really? I've barely had to touch mine at all. Never broken anything on it either.. yet..

Hey Cars.
On-road racing in west chester at http://www.galaxyhobbies.com/
I my Self Run A mtx-3 with a Novarossi LL3 Mod by RD-Mods
At West Chester the are no engine limits so you can run 3 or 5 port
or even a 15 size engine.
Bad news is racing will not start again till spring

Get a MTX-3 or a MTX-4 with a OS TZ 3 port. 3 ports are usually easier to find and sell since it has double the demand.

I'm running one in my 710... And the car is smokin fast... Break the motor in according to the owners manuel and heat cycle it... When the motor is broken in and ready to race, use gearing 17/60 1st gear and 23/56 2nd gear if you're running on a large track... If smaller, then use 23/57 for your 2nd gear... You'll be happy your did... Nuff said... Go get the TZ 3 port, drop it in that 710 and enjoy the ride.... PM me if you have any questions on what pipe to use for that motor... I won't post it here... This is a Nitro on-road thread.
