Oh yeah they're drifting... so fast you have to put it in slow motion to see it.

8th scale thrives in the Midwest. I've seen a lot of posts mentioning the midwest series... Bottom line its the organized tracks and competitions that will make or break 1/8th. If it were not for the midwest series 1/8th would die around here. Clubs are struggling, but the Midwest Series helps keep them going. So if you love 1/8th or interested in it join a club, help out, start one, get a series going, you might just find something.

Sorry but the JP pipe is not related to RD logic pipe or to the VR12 they are not the same.

how bout I put this a different way. They are literally the same dimensionally. does that make you feel better. I had no input in those pipes in any way but I bet the JP came first. I can tell you the same manu makes the VR 12 and the 505. they came along about the same time and I figure it was Ken's brainchild. Like the turbo 2 was mine. That pipe was copied a zillion ways.
you know what they say about duplication. Now Robbie you know I would not have said that about the JP pipe unless I had dissected one 67 ways. and done a comparison. Yes I know the JP is made by another manufacturer but the divergent and convergent profiles are the same, can shape, and stinger placement is literally identical. Theres only so many ways to slice a good design.

only reason I even mentioned it was I had a driver at the GLC ask what pipe we were using. when I told him he what we were using he blurted out were using the VR12. when I said there the same he just looked at me with this confused look. I said go get your pipe and lay it against mine. After he did he looked even more confused. He had no clue.

These pipes might be very similar at one time but not the same. I can't speak for others but the Skyline design has gone through many changes and prototypes until it became what it is today. They were tested on the track, revised, tested again. The process repeated MANY MANY times. I saw it myself at the track. The result is possibly the best pipe for any money and many agree. You might not agree but that's what I believe.

But we digress. Let's get back to the topic...

I think another reason they aren't so popular, is because of the incredible performance. There's at least one guy here locally that wants to sell his, because he's afraid of it. When comming from an average 10th scale car, the locked rear diff in these beasts are nothing short of counterintuitive. Adding throttle to make a corner feels bass-akards. In fact, I decided not to run in both 8th scale and 10th scale electric classes on the same day. It's just too frustrating to swap back and forth, completely changing my driving style. It really makes my electric tourer feel slow, and unresponsive...
