i am fan of lipos in the transmiter, just dont really see the advantage
of taking weight out of the lowest and center part of the car
too me this seems counter productive if i was looking to save weight
it would be in the upper deck and in rotating mass (serpents light wt.
pully adapters- alum. (upper only) pivot balls- alum.mid shaft
just my thoughts

I agree. The car was designed with the weight of a 5 cell pack in mind. By adding the weight to the front of the tray, I brought my rx pack back to the intended weight & shifted it slightly forward. End result is a much better power supply & weight distribution more favorable to steering.
Switching to LiPo for a weight savings, seems like a bad idea to me. It does offer a much better power supply though & gives one the freedom to adjust the fr/rear weight bias.

When I ran my Evolva I really did not notice the difference between running the stock AA batteries compared to the AAA batteries. I tested it back to back and just couldnt see or feel any handling differences. The AAA were considerably lighter and always held enough juice for the mains. I bought some AAA's to try out on my 960. Anyone else do this?

I noticed a significant difference when I added the weight to the front of the tray. Corner speed & lap times improved.
Wouldn't think of going back to NiMh! Hell, I could forget to bring my charger & be OK for the whole weekend!

I purchased my ceramic bearing kit from Acer Racing. When I first installed them on my 960 I used the grease that came with them. I ran the new bearings like this for a few races until everything got run in and it was very smooth. Before my third race I took them out, removed the shields and cleaned them with electric motor spray, then oiled them with the Serpent oil, and re-installed them back on the car. I remove and clean them every few races or so and have had no trouble at all.
