Re: mtx set up
Originally posted by gentleman81 i have just got a set up station for my mtx 3. can anyone give me a setup for a tight technical infield , the track does have one straight but i loose all my time because i cant take any speed into the corner. running the stock pulleys and one way dark blue springs all around 2.5 rear sway bar front bar parallel to ground stock shock oils and diff oil also the track is a parking lot track with not the best in traction, i usually get a push in the turns that make me slow way down to make the turn, but until now i have been playing my settings by eye. small, tight and technical, no grip..... requires late braking on those corners. Then i'd start again with the basic set-up from Mugens manual, and start dialing whatever correction the car needs on a one to one problem basis. It is imposible to give you particular set-up that will work like magic...every track has it's mysterys that have to be found. AFM |
If I were you, i'd use a front diff on those track conditions........ Well said, you took the words rite out of my mouth. :tire: |
i run at a tight technical track. try this setup:
front diff - 50000 oil rear diff - 50000 oil camber front = -2 rear = -4 droop front = 2 rear = 6 toe front = .5 rear = -2 (add one if the track is loose) swaybar front = flat rear = all the way to the end of rod try 37 shore tire all the way around and put 35 in the rear only if the track gets more loose. good luck and update me if this works :) |
i forgot the ride height
front and rear = 5 do 5.5 ride height when the track gets more loose let me know how your car reacts after doing this setup and you can do more changes from there. |
thanks for the info
i set it up to spec with the mugen sheet i got online. i have to get the parts to assemble my front diff and then i will try it. so .5 toe in the front is wnough huh, i'll try it, i always thought it was 1-2 deg? any way if the weather permits i will take my newly tuned mtx out to give some a$$ kickin on sunday i will keep all this info close by.

At the weekend we suffered a lot of traction roll (rear end) due to the high grip and high temps.
We tried a lot of different set ups during the weekend to try cure it but it never completely went away. In the end up we were running the following set up which seemed to help the most. Rear: 40 shore tires Purple springs 30wgt oil Rear Pistons 2 hole 1.1mm Rear Diff 30k Mugen Diff Oil Rear anti-sway bar standard setting shocks in top holes 5deg camber on rear wheels 3-4 deg toe-in A blocks Front: 42 shore tires Light blue Springs 30wgt oil Pistons 1 hole 1.3mm Solid Front Axle Anti-Sway set hardest Shocks in top holes 3.5deg camber 2deg toe-out 0 caster Traction roll was still a problem. Any idea what we could try to get it cured as the next track will be the same conditions. hardening the car up made it worse. |
Re: Robbie
Have you tried C blocks in the rear?

How about lessening the rear toe?
1.5 or 2 degrees should do. |

If you still traction roll with smaller tires, try gluing the sidewalls.
