This belt conversion thing is a personal preference. I don't notice anydriving difference in the car at the end of a 30 min main. I have looked at my lap time and they dont differ. I can still pull my fastest lap in the last 5-10 min.

But then again it might be the track that determines the tire wear.
Yes my tires dont' wear evenly. but as far as handling. I can't seem to notice any difference at min 25 or min 10. At my track I use one set of tires a race day. if not more. So I dont have a track that is easy on tires. I also dont overdrive(driving, not tire size. The way your drive the car) the car. That would cause excessive wear.

it kinda of a dead horse. Some people love it. Some people dont think that is a big deal. You should just see how your car works.

I have never tried it. Maybe for the heck of it I will.

Just for Grins. What tire size are you that use the conversion starting the races with. 61 rears and 57.5 fronts.

gonzoY5 07-29-2004 06:42 AM

Actually I just true down the fronts and go from there. I just do club racing and can't justify not getting as much use out of a set of tires as I can. I'll start the day with a full size set of rears and bring the fronts down 3.5mm and start practicing. By the time i've gone through the 2 quals and practice sessions the rears are in the 62-60mm range and i'll run the main with those. I wouldn't say my track has high tire wear, but it certainly could be better. I agree it's ultimately personal preference. But when you try it, I think you will notice a difference.

Thinking bout getting a MTX3..

I used to race a serpent but the car was a pain to setup. I race offroad and want to play with some on road. I just dont want to get something which breaks all the time and want something reliable with minor work needed to set the car up.

Is the MTX3 a good option for this? What would be a good solution, I dont think getting a RTR tc3 or otehr car would be good enough...what do you think?

Also what pipe and what engine...

Is it a pain to get the wheels with a 2mm offset or are they usually available.

We're going to start running GT bodies as well as TC bodies here in South Florida, at Royal Palm Raceway in Miami:

<www.royalpalmraceway.com>

Not GTP, GT1 or Can-Am, but true GT cars as in the FIA GT:

<www.fiagt.com>

I thought you guys would like to see a Pro-Line 360 Modena I just finished. I replaced MOMO with "WCH", which stands for Warrick Custom Hobbies, my sponsor.

YES

Novarossi MAX and Novarossi MAX engine.

NO. But, you do not really need to get 2mm offset to run your MTX-3. The regular ones will work just fine with the help of Mugen Wheel Spacers.

Do the spacers come with the kit or need to be purchased?

eddiethefish 07-29-2004 02:25 PM

It's an optional part and will cost you a couple of bucks.

We know this body isnt' legal, but we're just doing this at our local track. Some of the guys are getting bored of the touring bodies, so for a refresher, we're running bodies of cars that we'd REALLY like to drive. Just for fun. ROAR rules need not apply. :tire: :tire: :tire:

What do you guys think of the nova l3 compared to the x12?
