i've been running a mbx 4rr for two years on a os rg .21 with no problems, but i see that the real fast "race" motors can be touchy or thats what i have been told, i fully understand tuning and reading the manual for the motor, and how the motor works, i just dont want to go over kill with the price. i would think $200 would be good enough to run with, i see the sts, os, and sirios all have a motor in that range that people seem to like.

I don't blame you on the price. Some of the prices right now are insane. The only motors that I've seen that are really touchy are extremely modified motors, but even that is getting better as modifiers get better.
Not to many people at my track run Sirios anymore, because they tend to run much hotter than the Novas (might be partly because of the altitude). Have heard good things about the OS TR and STS motors (D3, D5, etc).

How's the Mtx3 coming?

gentleman81 05-03-2004 07:48 PM

actually its on the way, should be here wednsday, thats why i was trying to get all the hop up info i could get so i can get the hop ups in while im building the kit.

gentleman81 05-03-2004 07:48 PM

do the mugen drivers use a certain brand motor?

darkangel 05-03-2004 07:54 PM

yeah, the JP X12 motors from what I've seen.

cool, unis and aluminum wheel hexes I guess after taking a much closer look at a friends mugen yesterday. Still waiting for mine. Hopefully I'll have it built and the new moter broken-in by May 23 (my next race)

My new web site.

Hello Everyone,

I am still working on my new web site 3Hobby.Com and have 2 friends from the RC world looking and testing it this week.

However I noticed that others have looked at it and even joined as a registered user and am very happy to see that. I feel therefore it is time to invite all of you to take a look and join also.

The website is designed to be used differently to RCTech or myTSN and therefore complements both these web sites. I hope you enjoy sharing the joys and passion of our hobby, especially RC Racing. I do tremendously and this is my contribution back to the community!

Enjoy.

OK, I'm a bit slow here, I'm comming down from my Paragon buzzzzz.:weird: I see that for a tight track the conversion (sp) will help. What about a huge open track? The track I run at if set up for 1/8th cars, its not as bit as Cincinnati, but big.

The aluminum wheel hexes clamp onto the axle instead of popping off like the stock mugen hexes do. They might also be a bit lighter as well :)

Expect to pay as much as a new mtx3 kit for a brand new JP engine (as well as most modded engines). Although the stock Novas are getting up there in price as well

Glenn said he was going to post them along with some pics on the website, and yes it was VERY hot. Track temp was over 150!!
I actually ran 45 fronts and 42 rears to make sure my tires would last. A little skatey but stayed consistant, alot of guys were running on rims at the end. Almost ended up being a drift car race at the end! By the way Pepe broke, if he didn't he prob would have smoked everyone in the "A" TC main

Absolutly right! that is one of the reason why I got the Novamax when those NS first came out, the difference between the 2 was less then $40, granted i might have got the novamax at a good price though.

Stiffen up the car, heavy diff oil like 50000, use 'A' block in the rear, shock position to the most inner hole, shorten the pipe length and a monster power engine.:batman:
