i was just wondering. I am still having problems w/ my 2 speed sticking in second gear after it shifts. I bought all new stuff (new 2 speed shoes, set screws etc...) But it still sticks, i was wondering if having worn out bearings for the clutch bell on the centax would make it stick?

Yep, and we had some very interesting posts and answers on the Engine wars thread. If Smeltz and Murnan will appear by there and join to the talk will be quite fine, I know that Dennis Richey reads the thread, but doesn't make so much posts on it, will be a quite interesting thead to follow on the next days if they join regularly to those thread.

BTW: Anyone knew what happened to Smeltz? Has disappeared from here many time ago... :weird:

Oh man..need help. Thsi isn't really related to mtx-3 except that I have an mtx-3

I have a prolux starter box with a panel. My friend recently rewired it for me so it's cleaner inside. But for some reason when I plug my glow starter (connected from teh panel) to my glow plug - I see spark!!! And then the engine wouldn't start. I would literally melt the glow plug!!! What's wrong??? Could I have gotten the polarity wrong. I thought there's no need to worry about polarity here??!? What could be wrong...I melted 3 glow plugs in a role now.

Now when I use my detached glow starter everything is fine!

I use the two red and black plugs on the upper left corner..

Not the adjustable one

You are getting more than the 1.5 volts that a glowplug requires....if your hitting it with 12volts you might just have the first starterbox/ arc welder. :) Check your voltage to the plug.

Umm does anyone have that panel? I know for sure that one pair of the plug the two on the right should be adjustable. And I thought the set on the left is preset....that must be it! GAwd dang expensive mistake!

I went through 3 O.S. A5 plugs now...=( Freaking 8 bucks each!!!

Loosenut,

I wouldnt call them glowplugs.....welding rods might make you feel better :)

loosenut 10-02-2003 05:17 PM

Yea...I just tested them with a meter...all register around 12 volts ...so that IS my problem. The weird thing is when I turn the heat thing...nothing. Didn't make a difference...so I'm assuming something is weird with teh wiring....

Even the glow plug charger was at 12volts!!! LOL..
