exactly how does this diff work
|
Hiya guys!
Long time haven't drop by there.... too busy at the work. Seems that we have one of the most rare specimens here, a girl with a MTX3 (good choosing, some of the people who populates the thread are snake eaters  ). Regarding fluid diffs, some time ago constructed three complete diffs, one with 10K another with 30K and one with 50K (this is the one I used least.... not enough grip and horsepower to try to drive a 200mm car like a 1/8 scale car. :D ) |

NEEDS
Usually run on a small to medium sized track...lots of corners, lots of small straights
Back straight is somewhere around 130 feet. Medium traction Was running an OS .12 CRV side exhaust on NTC3, resonably quick package...now would like to move on. Cant afford to go crazy with $$$, maybe a $200 limit on engine, exhaust to compliment engine $$ ??? |
if you want a great bang for the buck engine and dont care about brand and looks, then go for the D5
It is only about 130 dollars and provide a lot of power from what I have heard from many people Or maybe the new Sirio? |
D5 ?????
|
if you can afford it, i would buy the ns12s3 engine. Its the best bang for the buck and the conrod doesn't stretch as easily and quickly as the sirios and the sts d5.

Originally posted by racecar850 D5 ????? check it out at www.stsrc.com.tw As power wise, I believe it is just as fast as the NS12. and IMHO, i dont think the Novarossi is a good bang for the buck engine, because it is still quite expensive! well, but novarossi makes good engines though its all up to you buddy:) |

What kind of maintenance does the clutch on the MTX3 require, and how(besides the obvious) will driving an MTX3/nitro tourer compare to driving 1/10 gas trucks and 1/8 buggies(ie, what would the transition be like)? I've been racing gas trucks for about 1 3/4 years, and 1/8 buggies for a little over a year, and was thinking about taking everything from my 1/10 and putting it in an MTX3 when spring rolls around. Anyone here race at LeMans RC in Fremont, CA? That's where I'd most likely be racing. Any other tips for making the transition from offroad to onroad(I'll still be racing offroad, though)? Thanks.
