Break
Hi Guys,
I gave the break pads a sanding. Pushed the two pins approx. half there length into the chassis. The breaks still bind? Has anybody removed some plastic from the top brace disc stop? If I remove any more break lining I'll have no break? Has anybody got a free rolling drivetrain with no break binding? Many Thanks |

I've got your free roll.;)
Check for binding with the rear pod removed from the chassis before attacking the plastic. Make sure your discs are not distorted. Remove any burs from the stamped disc spacer. Make sure there is just the smallest gap between the pad and roll pins. We had to gently lever one roll pin over on the car we started building last night. |
Brakes
Hi Guys,
Slightly bending the pins has helped. Not as tight but not free rolling. I'll check & tweek a few more things, sure this is half the fun of building a car. Thanks for the advice |
do any of you guys drill the shock pistons?
in the uk (rubber tyres) we have been drilling 3 1mm holes in front a 4 in rear? |
Horray For Nytro.......just got off the phone with our very own Robby, he told me how to solve the brake issue. first off, do not use any glue whatsoever on the brake pads, do not glue them to the metal. second, on the rear bulkhead over the brakes, there is a brake guide. grind it away. this should solve the problem.

I was told to fix the tight brake fitting is to use rubber adhesive to glue on the pad and use a brenh wise to press both the pad to make sure the brake pad sit flat on the plate.
