I use standard 12 gaskets no probs. You may need to clean up the header flange a bit.

Tuned pipe

Hi Guys,

Robbie I believe you!.

I advanced ordered my 2 kits from Singapore, ModelOneRacing.

I asked Paul about the pipe & he confirmed that the kit DOES NOT INCLUDE A TUNED PIPE.

Also from MUGEN SEIKI CO., LTD.

"Yes, the MTX-3 kits has the manifold but the pipe is not included"

So . . . One company + MUGEN SEIKI CO., LTD say no pipe.

I know items are marketed in a different way in diff. countries but a tuned pipe is a MAJOR item in a kit.

ALL the advanced CAD + photos displayed a tuned pipe. I presumed the MTX3 kit with engine had a tuned pipe.

All the MTX2 kits I have purchased had a tuned pipe.

Where the hell is my tuned pipe . . . . . (Humour guys)

All I'm trying to find out is should I or should I not have received a tuned pipe?

On another note the brakes bind/lock when you put the rear end together. It does mention sandpapering the break pads. I might not have any left considering how tight they are.

Any other MTX3 owners with the same problem?

All the best

I used slow CA to bond the friction material to the pad ,very small amount. It is also possible to skew the roll pins in the chassis.
When installing the roll pins I suggest having about 3mm out through the bottom of the chassis and then grind it off, there is a taper on the end of the roll pin and they can work loose very easily.

robbie has said file down the brake stops in a previous post.
As for you exhausts maybe not a good idea contacting longshaws if you went through the back door supose it was cheaper but now you know why!!!

I JUST SIT HERE  WHILE YOU:cry:

If you purchased through your LHS you would have someone to complain to.

Tuned pipe

Hi Guys,

Now now put all your sticks away!.

Most RC shops in Ireland stock CEN or HPI there is ONE dealer who does Serpent.

One shop gets some stuff from Longshaws.

E.g. MTX2 Pro kit 790 Euros thats approx. $780 !!!!

The exchange rate between Sterling & the euro is crap.
I think an MTX2 is about 500 sterling = 700 Euro + shipping.

I saved 790 euros ( $780) on the two kits I got. I think I can afford a tuned pipe or 2!.

So . . . don't be so quick to judge without some facts. I understand that this hobby would not be around if it were not for the local hobby stores but $780 saving, look me in the eye & tell me you would not do the same.

Sorry for the rant, I just have one more thing to say . . . .

Where's my tuned pipe!!!!

All the best

Oh no, somebody else has the pipe meant for you. I hope they look after it till you get it back.:p

We received the MTX-3 Power Pack 730 today. There is two types of plugs available (Airtronics or Futaba)

Also, we got a couple MR-12S1 Piston/Sleeve set and the conrod if you guys are looking for replacement parts for your engine.

Hey Steve,
since i will be going home in 2 days, do you know if my mtx-3 has reached my house yet? theres no point in snooping for presents if there is no mtx-3 to snoop for:nod:

and also, after snooping around on the hpi site, and being a fan of Hara, ive decided that i will do a paint scheme like his, but simplified so it is still possible with cans.........you must admit, his car is the coolest body in the world!!!!
