If you've purchased the engine kit then you should of had a pipe and monafold inside your box, give me a call if not i'll take care of it.:) And as for the batteries as longs as their AAA, three on bottom two on top then they should work.

No tuned pipe
Hi Robbie,
I got two kits one with & one without the engine. I only got the header in the kit with the engine, no tuned pipe? I'm over the other side of the pond, Ireland, what do I do? Do I deal direct with Mugen or the company I purchased from? Many Thanks |
Go back to the place you purchased the kit, it may be that there are different specs in your country.

I'm just getting into the hobby. Would the MTX-3 be an ok car to get for a beginner? I have my heart set on it... unless its totally unadvisable.

naturalmystic i would recomend this car from what i have seen.
as for you being a beginner it depends if you think you have the patience to set up the car or a friend with experience that can help you along. (click dublin) try using orings in the one way out drive to push the dog bones out more so that it will go in a little bit on the axles but don't over do it or you will have binding at full turn. |
Frani, I see you looking at the new sedan, when are you gonna get yours :)

Originally posted by JordanC It depends on the format you local club runs. I wouldn't advise it if your club runs pro touring.... i.e, foam, mod motors, 2 speed etc. But if they allow a pull start motor, rubber tyres etc in a begginer class then it would probably be ok. The MTX3 is really a top level race car. I wouldnt have figured yuo could run a pullstart in the car.... If its you first car, I would sugest trying the msx. the pullstart shaft drive...... its a hell of a lot more cose effective for your first car. Learn to drive it and them move up to a better "pro" car later. |
This car is NOT suitable for a first timer, it is a race car. If you like the hype then get it. The plastics are light and rigid, it will break if abused. It's sole purpose is to win and will prove to be intolerant of abuse. The variety of adjustment is astounding and to the newbie probably confusing. The instructions assume you know what your doing so it would be better to purchase from someone who knows what they're doing. Every angle on this car is variable appart from the front wish bones. Oh, VoneRR side belt fits.

yeah that!

what would you plan on doing with the car?
how old are you? mechanically inclined? how much money are you willing to spend? this is a top of the line RACE car if you plan to spend the money and race the car get it it would save money in the long run if your going to race to only buy 1 car but if your planning on buying it to play around in the local parking lot i would buy something else to do it right you need car engine pipe header kit a decent radio starter box alignment gauges fuel and ignitor this would get you going but soon you will need more tires and glowplugs and soon spare parts i would say it would break less than alot of other cars out there but it will break especially for a newbie so your going to need a parts supply i race every chance i get almost every weekend for 2 years and i wish i had spent my money buying the good stuff the first time i have wasted quite a bit buying something cheap only to replace it later |
