Not really.. Mine weighed 1723g BOX STOCK with body, MR12, electronics, and new foams. I have not weighed it since I started reducing the driveline weight. I'll complete the reductions, then re-weigh it. One of the guys here runs a Sirio in his (box stock otherwise). I don't remember the exact weight he told me, but it was considerably underweight. If he lightens the driveline, he'll have to put lead all over it to get it back to legal.

yeah that chassis is heavy i may lighten it some after all other mods are completed

i should also check my scale we use it at work to measure freon but i am not 100% sure of its accuracy

What you think about this disk brake? It's made by an Italian manufacturer for MRX3... Very cheap when compared with the Optional Mugen (Only 25 Euros vs. 62).

it is cheap but is it good? you let me know !!

the 4mm chasis is a bit heavier but it realy stiff. so i will
try to loose the weigth i added with the chasis and other
stiffeners by going with titanium pillow balls and light weight
shafts for you guys barely making minimum weight make sure
you go a tad bit more or weight the car with used tires
so it will pass after running the mains with less tires.
last i have a scale that reads in ounces does any one have
the conversion for ounces to grams.

justrc 02-08-2003 09:43 PM

the minimum weight went up to 1725g this year.
;)

i would rather have the origional option 4mm chassis frm mugen. it has made recess to retain the CG and roll centre of the car even the chassis is 4mm thick.

Where'd you get that info from? My 2002 rule book which came with an addendum dated 8/2002 specified 1700. Has it changed again as of the Jan.?

quozl 02-09-2003 12:29 AM

25 grams added to IFMAR 8th, 10th 235 and 200mm minimum weight rule to take into account the AMB personal transponders that most clubs use now.

Cheers Alastair

kevink2 02-09-2003 12:31 AM

So that's IFMAR's weight min. correct, not ROAR?

quozl 02-09-2003 01:31 AM

That is IFMAR's min weight, correct. I'm not sure about ROAR but what usually happens with FEMCA, EFRA etc is that technical rules like weights etc are taken from the IFMAR specs so when they change the member blocs change there's as well. If you post a message in the ROAR forum on the Starting grid confrences though you'll get an answer directly from a ROAR rep as the frequent that board.

Cheers Alastair.

According to the new ROAR rule book (I just got the new one), minimum weight for .12 fuel touring cars is still 1700g (60oz) with the transponder.

jason102276 02-09-2003 10:05 AM

28 grams per ounce

i heard something about the change in weight due to transponders

they changed the rule to add transponder in the weight so those who used personals had no advantage over those who didnt
