no i don't have one yet, but i'm planning on getting one

it will be awesome to have both the mtx-4 and the mrx-4, talking about weapon . oh and the mtx-3 of course, the very reliable car for backup just in case the mtx-4 is not cooperating (by the looks of it though, it seems that so far my 3 will be seeing more parked time )

equals what gearing???

Entering the 150ft drag, do you come off of a "slow" turn or does the drag begin coming off a large sweeping turn?

Too many unknown variables.. if I was forced to guess maybe 26T or 27T (2nd gear) is a good start (depemds on the above question).

I was side swiped by a fellow RC on the tracks today and that sent my X3 pro to the fence post. The mishap bent my prospec chassis near the front bulkhead

has any of you guys tried to mend a slightly bent chassis? It 'll be a waste to just replace it as mine is still in pristine condition.

Please advice.

I heard someone uses a method kind of like forging:
You can heat up the chassis with kitchen stove, then put the chassis on a flat hard surface then gently hammer the bent area. You may need to repeat the process until it really straghts back.

You could do that but the problem with that is you'll not get it back as accurate. The local guys here told me to sandwich the chassis between two flat soft wood and drive your car over it and let it stay pined under the wheel for a night.

Anymore advices?

you could probably just hammer it down gently until you feel it's ok and straight already to where you are comfortable with it. i don't think it will be perfect, but should be good enough to run the car and better than having a big bend to it. if you decided to try your "sandwich" method, let us know how it goes.

nope, tried hammering it down fiercely and the 7075 is a tough material. Asked our local machining shop and he adviced me to take the sandwich approach but on a press machine and then apply heat to the chassis for it to form back into place.

Will update once I have tried it later.

I THINK YOU SHOULD CALL IT A DAY . YOU WILL NEVER GET IT PERFECT.IF YOUR JUST .5MM OFF,YOUR SUSPENSION WILL BE OFF BY MORE THAN I MM.BECAUSE OF THE LEAVERAGE AND DISTANCE TO THE SUSPENSION ARM. YOU WILL HAVE SOME TWEAK.YOUR CAR JUST WONT HANDLE PROPERLY.I KNOW THAT SUCKS BUT YOULL WASTE SO MUCH TIME TRYING TO GET THE CAR TO RUN CORRECTLY, AND IT WILL NEVER BE RIGHT.REMEMBER THESE ARE HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS AND IF THEY AREN'T SET UP TRUE YOULL HAVE A BAD DAY AT THE TRACK

Very true, have tried to straighten chassis in the past but the cars never run as good as they did before the bend. Better off biting the bullet and replace it.
Just bought a new 3Racing 4mm chassis to put under my car and it looks sweet!

For the ones that own a MTX-4, is it worth it to make the shift from the MTX-3 to MTX-4 ?

From the reports I have read on the forums, the MTX-4 will shave up to half a second off your lap times. It apparently corners alot better and is a more balanced car with lower CG. I'll be building mine on boxing day ready for the Pre Worlds Feb 2006 at Brendale Aust!
