Protecting your Chassis

I guess I've been play in the dirt to must and all though offroad wise guy rubbed off on me. Sorry for should a lame question. You're right if it doesn't show signs of being in a race its not a race car....

Turning you guys attention to a centrax clutch isuse: I ran the car today an show that one of the shims somehow lost its perfect circle shape its more oval now and the car launchs but is' has a strange sound coming from it. Can someone tell me where to find a shim kit? Also on ebay there is this new thrust bearing less clutch setup has anyone tried it yet?

I can't wait still august when the SUNSHINE bandit get things going again down here in FL... Thanks again for the feed back

AFM

You don't need to use the shim kit to get the spacing shims for the clutch. I use the Racers Edge shims. They are less than $2 for a baggy of them. I'm not sure of the part number, but I know Dave at B&B has them. As for the bearingless thrust on ebay....never used it, but it seems as though it might cause a slight drag on the bell causing a higher temps, but that is only my opinion.

you can also try hpi shim kit .1mm for sale at tower, I'd check the bearings within the clutch bell for the sound

What the web site or phone number? Got to find a place to stay. Is this a club race schedule or for the state racing?

www.royalpalmraceway.com is the address. There will be a Summer Club Racing series starting at the end of the month. The schedule hasn't been posted yet though. We're doing a warm up club race tommorow (weather permitting) and a 2 hour Enduro on the 18th. The state series race will be there in December. Just mentioning it to you in case you needed an excuse to get to Miami  Email or contact the owner and he'll tell you where you could stay. During the Forgass Trophy/Finale Race, a few guys stayed at the Miccosukee Hotel about 10 minutes away and they loved it. The track is a little bit out of the "city" so there's no hotel like right next to it, but it's won't take anymore than 10-15 minutes from the closest hotels. If you have access to the Starting Grid Conferences, there was hotel info posted in there in the Trohpy Race thread in the Forgass conferene.
