I'd make sure your diff's are built correctly (gears are meshing) with diff oil, an improperly built diff can cause sluggish movements and slow your car down considerably. Try adjusting your 2speed and engine clutch again aswell

Good luck

I haven't had the time to do any nitro preparations yet, too much work & races with all the electric support recently. But at least I ordered all the new bits for the car now, so I can get ready anytime when I finally find time and am in the mood... ;)

What's your first race in south? I'm going to start my season mid of May in Turkheim, should be a great track for 1:10 sedan gas.

Hi Reto,

that's what you get for jetting around the world all the time. But then again, I'm writing this from India right now :-)

I just heard that we are going to be team mates this year at the scuderia! I'm very much looking forward to that!.

I will have to run as many races as possible since I missed the first half of the '07 qualifying races last year and I really want to go to the DM in Munster, because I love that track. Therefore my season will start at Nuremberg at the end of April.

The scuderia guys are goinf for a pravtice weekend over Easter, either Rosenheim or Sitterdorf/CH. Maybe I can convince the wife that I'll have to be there :-)

Looking forward to see you at the races,

Stefan

Is that a sewage treatment plant next door???? Does it smell there? :(

Bigbarn 03-13-2007 06:13 AM

Who cares what it smells like. That facility is awesome.

How long is that back strait?

One day, someone in the states will build a facility like that.

Artificial-I 03-13-2007 06:22 AM

Bigbarn 03-13-2007 06:27 AM

last time someone posted pics of this track they said you can hire "porters" to carry your stuff from the car. Unreal.

Nice Track

Good Luck!

teabag 03-13-2007 08:09 AM

wow nice track

When I took my 2nd gear spur off and looked at the clutch, it was very shiny with a lot of metallic residue build up on it. Could this be the cause of my lack of acceleration when it shifts to second? Anyone experience this?
or is there something else i'm missing.

and I can't really find out until i go back to the track on the weekend.

at the start of the race it would be fine, then down the strait after a few minutes I think it shifts but then feels like it slips and no acceleration.

Yes, sure !!! I wish you all the best.

The back straight is 395 feet long ( 120 meter ) total. Usually we race on 328feet (100m) due to conrods.

I have to increase pinion gears by 1 tooth , and smaller spur gears 52 & 58.
Otherwise....... boom, the conrod is bye-bye. I've seen lots of people blowing up their engine during the track's early years.

Suprisingly, today engines are happily screaming all the way on the super long straight ( with proper gearing, of course) and you see the car is taking about 4 seconds to complete the back straight, from left sweeper to first right turn.

Cheers.
