I'm trying to figure out what pinions to buy. Rightnow I'm running stock 53/59 spurs and 17/23 pinions. The track that I'm running on is small with a small sweeper. I want to keep the stock spurs since I have so many of them but would like to change the pinions so that I will have more kick. Is that considered gearing up or down? What pinions should I go with.

M run 16/22 at HT and run 17/23 in South Austin and 18/24 at the SWS. That is what I was running.
If you need anything give me a call at the shop. |

HarKonnenD, I see that you mention in the post above about stripping gears, is this a problem with the mtx4? The reason that I ask is that I have a friend who is having major problems with stripping second gear he has tried every possible solution he can think of and it still strips them, Is there a reason for this that you know of? |
Some said it was due to people running a high difference number between pinions and spurs, engine mount shifting, or that 2nd gear mesh was to be set first instead of setting first gear. Other people never had issues like this at all. Here's a great site I was recommended to as well as others about the MTX4. :tire:

I have seen a few Brass and other metal battery trays here and there but never have actually seen one for sale on a web site. Anyone know where I could get one? A CNC aluminum tray would be nice. At the WinterNats a few weeks ago my car was very close to being to light in several qualifiers so I was thinking if I had to add weight I might as well add it to the lowest point of the car.

Has anyone tried the mugen new steering blocks? I did and I noticed that it steers more smoothly at sweepers especially exiting. Does anyone felt the same way with their cars?

anyone know if the Kfactory tit pivot balls made for the MTX3 will work for the MTX4? If so, are there any differences in quality compared to the Mugen ones?
