Has anyone ever began there races, whether qualifying or main, with tires that are 53mm or less? Right now I have a set of tires that are 53 front and 54mm rear. I know this may be questionable for a 15 min main, but what about for a 5 min qualifier?
|
probably not for the 15min main but should be fine for the short qualifier, i found my car runs the best with 58mm front and 60 rear, i wouldn't go less the 54mm...

well it's also depending on how you setup your shocks, i guess it's okay to run it down to the bone as long as you maintain acceptable ride heights or it will hinge your car handling

Exactly :tire: I hate wasting tires. Lately I've been running approximately 55mm front and 56.5mm rears and then not using them anymore, but I have a bunch of 53 and 54mm tires so I think I'll make use of them. Set up is not a problem, I just dont want the tires shred apart during a race. |

can u check the photos and see if its right. for example, should the dogbone be stickin that far out?? and do i adjust track width by them screws near the wheel thanks |

ya it looks like your track is too wide and for the dogbones i use 1 o ring on the wheel end and fuel tubing on the diff side oh and how are you doing the track how do you measure it where on the tires.

This has probably been covered before, but is it fairly usual for the MTX4 to eject dogbones when you give it a good whack to the front end? I ejected a bone and lost an outdrive today. Shame too cause the car was fast.
Also how long are most of you getting out of your bearings? One of my front small stub axle bearings is already toast. It was the one I gave a whack to, perhaps it sustained some damage. Funny thing is I never killed a R40 bearing in 2 1/2 years........... |
