CVD's are a must! Other than that, the stock mtx-4 is very capable. However, I found the the rear lower hinge pin holder is a little weak. Meaning the one that goes in the front, of the rear has a tendancy to strip out. I run a Kawahara one and it has not failed since.
Other than that, you can get some of the MSR lightweight pully adaptors and shafts, Titanium screws and you have a car that is a winner. |
@Stefan: I see, you get ready for the outdoor season in Germany's south region. Looking forward to see you there. :D
I haven't had the time to do any nitro preparations yet, too much work & races with all the electric support recently. But at least I ordered all the new bits for the car now, so I can get ready anytime when I finally find time and am in the mood... ;) What's your first race in south? I'm going to start my season mid of May in Turkheim, should be a great track for 1:10 sedan gas. |

not that I know of........I've been making my own 4mm ones since the car came out, but you are right, it does need that.

I'm just putting my car together and have a question. I'm putting the car together with the front oneway but I think the tracks I'm going to be running on will require either the front diff or front spool. My question is this. What's the part number for the o-ring (S3 or S5) and small washers (OW3.5x7.5x02 or OW5x10x0.2)? Are these items in a package diff hardware kit or something? I'd like to have an assembled spool & diff in my box just in case.

I guess I found the o-rings (T0243-44) what about the small washers that go over the o-rings.

Still own my old MTX-2 (from `99-00)
here is my MTX-4 took me a good week (3-3.5 hrs a day) dont rush yourself) too have everything complete, used a hudy setup board, believe me the MTX-4 is a horse at the track, alot of little things you need to pay attention too when assembling this kit. Fast Lap times, feel free to ask questions Happy Building |

anybody know this situation, i'm fairly new to nitro on-road cars:
about after 5-8 minutes of racing car feels like it won't shift into second. is something heating up that I need to adjust? I got a stock O.S. TZ , everything stock on the clutch system. After It did it the first time I changed out the clutch to a yellow pad and it did the same thing. I didn't touch the two-speed clutch because it shifts at the correct time on the track. Only happens after the car has been run for 5-8 minutes in a ten minute race. |
