wieght on the car..........

What are people's thought about adding wieght to the car? Also, what does it do for handling when you put it in the front and in the rear?

Not front and rear, in the middle. NO CARBON BATTERY TRAYS. Not only do you have the ability to lower the overall C.G. you can also adjust front to rear weight balance. You would need to start kit stock to find out how Mugen built your little Snake Eater. Now if you would just point your mill towards something heavier I might have some money for ya. Think silver...

Need help.

I'm making overdrive calculator base on Excell for any cars with pulleys.

What is Number of Pulleys / Teeth in MTX4 ?

Front One Way / Front Gear Diff =
Front Center =
Front Side =

Rear Side =
Rear Center / Brake =
Rear Gear Diff =

Thanks !!!

Front
Front axle: 28
Front middle shaft: 18
Front side: 24

Rear
Rear side: 18
Rear middle shaft: 19
Rear axle: 41

Verify your numbers against Mugen's MTX-4 Overdrive Chart and you should be good to go.

Thanks, the excel its done.

I would like to check the math now. I need your inputs.

Given the number of pulleys above, am I correct to do the math like these ? :

A) Front Pulley Ratio : 28 / 18 = 1.5555

B) Side Pulley Ratio : 24 / 18 = 1.3333

C) Rear Pulley Ratio : 19 / 41 = 0.4634

D) Lets say 2mm split, Front Tires 63mm, Rear Tires 65mm : 63 / 65 = 0.9692

The overdrive ratio = A X B X C X D = 0.9314 ---> which is underdrive

AM I CORRECT ???

the supplied overdrive chart says for a 24T side pully, the overdrive with 63mm front and 65mm rear is 1.008

Flip C - It should be 41/19

I'm not sure where you're going with D

E should be A * B

Then overdrive = (C * Rear Tire)/(E * Front tire)

Try that.

Special thanks to Eric Gebhard for explaining these formulas to me.

EDIT : still not close to MTX4 overdrive ratio = 1.008 VS 1.07350

Can someone with good math check my approach to calculate overdrive ?

A) Front Pulley Ratio : 28 / 18 = 1.5555

B) Side Pulley Ratio : 24 / 18 = 1.3333

C) Rear Pulley Ratio : 41 / 19 = 2.1579

D) Lets say 2mm split : Front Tires 63mm and Rear Tires 65mm

E) Final Rear Ratio : 2.1579 x 65 = 140.2635

F) Final Front Ratio : (1.5555 x 1.3333) x 63 = 130.6557

Overdrive = 140.2635 / 130.6557 = 1.0735

MTX4 overdrive chart for 24T with 63 Front and 65 Rear = 1.008

Anyway........ I got it !!!!

I think here's HOW Mugen Seiki get the numbers ( I'm sure it's correct, but plz don't kill me if I'm not correct either )

A) Front Pulley Ratio : 28 / 18 = 1.5555

B) Side Pulley Ratio : 24 / 18 = 1.3333

C) Rear Pulley Ratio : 41 / 19 = 2.1579

D) Lets say 2mm split : Front Tires 63mm and Rear Tires 65mm

E) Distance Front : (63 x 3.14159) / (1.5555 x 1.3333) = 95.4338

F) Distance Rear : (65 x 3.14159) / 2.1579 = 94.6306

Overdrive Ratio = 95.4338 / 94.6306 = 1.0085

MTX4 overdrive chart for 24T with 63 Front and 65 Rear = 1.008

Enjoy my Overdrive Calculator : I think it's correct.
