I've been to every web site mentioned in this thread but they all say these upgrades have been discontinued and are not in stock.

Also had a question about the clutchbell and the buku clutch. It seems that either the flywheel is too thick or the bell is too long as it makes contact with the flywheel. I can shim it out but then the engine shaft is not long enough. Has anyone dealt with any of this before?

Check ebay by part number.

The 3.0 version uses the 6 deg castor blocks, part# 600704

Instead of the Pro Brakes, we have been using the SRX8 brake rotors & pads. We think they work better. Part#s 600744, 600829

For clutch, our favorite setup is the steel bell with just 2 Alum shoes w/ hard or x-hard springs.

I'm pretty sure this is a version 1. I got it cheap as a roller that needed work. I spent more on the servos (Savox 2274sg) than I did on the car itself.

Thanks, I'll look at those srx brakes you mentioned.

RCSHOX makes a good set of brakes for these as well.

I had the same problem with color coming off. When you do identify them, I suggest putting a small piece of colored heat-shrink tubing to identify them. Write it somewhere and you're done with guess work ;)

The zero degree steering knuckles are really hard to come by these days. Serpent seem to be out of stock.

teo1213 03-06-2017 12:04 PM

Yes I got it from serpent. Guessing 2s as don't see a need for more voltage. Thanks for response as well.

Rear RR toe block

Ok, dumb question.

If I am doing a set up calling for a #4 insert in the "in" position, on the Rear RR, the hole of the insert is oriented to the inside position? Correct?

The Rear FR is a #6 giving me 2 degrees of toe, right?

Thanks

teo1213 03-09-2017 06:37 PM

I checked the setup pages on serpent page but they download blank anyone have one I can use as a start point also I read about motor break in is the old idle tank method really not needed I read that run the car few get temps up and let cool for about 30 min something to that effect that really the best way?

teo1213 03-09-2017 07:25 PM

Cancel that setup filled out just me not paying attention but motor break in info would be great!! Thanks

Heat the engine with a hair dryer as hot as you can to make starting easier. Get the engine started at factory settings and let the engine idle for one tank but not longer than 20 minutes. Keep the head covered with some foam to keep the heat in. Don't excessively idle as it doesn't do the engine any good.

Then run the car up to half throttle around a parking lot or track for 4 tanks. Then run the car up to full throttle for the next 4 tanks slowly leaning the HSN 1/8 turn at a time until you reach the appropriate setting. You'll know when the engine is broken in as it'll stop going rich by itself. In my experience you don't need to do that heat cycling thing on modern quality engines it doesn't make a difference.

If you don't have a temp gun don't worry about it. The right setting is reached when you have good smoke out of the corners and the engine is clean up top without hesitating on opening the throttle again after holding full throttle for a couple seconds.

It's novarossi based so it'll take a good couple gallons to properly free up and break in.

teo1213 03-10-2017 07:08 AM

Sweet sounds good thanks!!

They go on the bottom of the 3 posts that connect the upper bumper plate to the lower .

Awesome. Thanx.

petersen114 03-10-2017 12:56 PM

Another thing I noticed is that the rear spacer is extended with two 4mm threaded holes. Maybe plans in the making for a factory rear defuser???

Check out sweep racing. I would go w/ their treaded tires for parking lot. Maybe 45-50 deg.

teo1213 03-15-2017 02:28 PM

Sweet was thinking that best what you guys running on track just curious? In warm weather

Slicks. Compounds vary between 40-50 deg w/ GTLS inserts. I have never tried the dual stage inserts, so I cant help out there. Slicks are for a clean prepped track surfaces though.

DKB243 03-16-2017 06:14 PM

So what motor mount do you use for rtr to use the starter box.

teo1213 03-16-2017 07:09 PM

I have not tried it yet still breaking in motor but from what I was told it should be able to take it as is. But I was gonna order the rc shox mount as it makes life easier I was told.

teo1213 03-16-2017 07:11 PM

I got a question i just bought a sanwa mt4s from a guy here and while I was going through half throttle tank lost control of car after it got lil over 100 ft from me even my rtr controller didn't do that but my rx batt was getting low the wire doesn't seem damaged on rx at all anything else it could be? I'm running a super old nimh hump pack my lipo showed up today going to charge it and change it out.

teo1213 03-16-2017 07:14 PM
